It is the same kind of fear you have of your loving parents who will also kick your as$ when you don't follow their rules. That's what the fear of God means and feels like. This fear is called respect.

It's called an excuse to run away.
I am a Christian and I have no fear what so ever of my Heavenly Father who gives me joint heir ship with my Lord Jesus Christ. My Father loves me so much he died for me.
Rather fear the wrath of the Lord which is to come.
Walk in his ways and there is nothing to fear. Refuse and lose everything worthwhile.
God Bless!

For those with the crippling fear which psychologists would term "phobia", that is experienced at the thought of God, the medically accurate term would Deiphobia - fear of God.

Believers are not to be “scared” of God. We have no reason to be scared of Him. We have His promise that nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39). We have His promise that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). Fearing God means having such a reverence for Him, that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives. The fear of God is respecting Him, submitting to His discipline, and worshipping Him in awe.

Takwa = which is fear God by avoiding the act of sins.

Khoshoe = which is the time when the body and mind is in complete surrender to God and completely focus on prayers or reading God words.
