Think about nature, a river, when you restrict the natural flow of water, what happens. Doesnt it really create a bigger problem. Our government tries to restrict drugs, what happened, did it fix the problem or create a bigger one. When your parents restricted you from doing something, didnt it make you want to do it more? Could that be why the catholics are having such a problem with their preists? So here's my real question...Do you think it was God that wanted to restrict us, or was it man?
(I dont mean to pick on catholics, its just an example)

My point is, sometimes we have to do the wrong to see the right.

God never has and never will restrict us. When he created Adam and Eve and they disobeyed, that brought about free will. We will always have the choice to do wrong or right. One thing God blessed us with is intuition. It's that little voice that if you listen to it, will keep you out of harms way and keep you from making the wrong choice. Unfortunetly, some people do not pay attention to thier intuition and they find themselves in less than appealing situation. If anyone is restricting themselves, it's humans. They make life harder for themselves than it has to be. God speaks to us through our intuition and if we listen, we won't do wrong. Now that is a little different from making mistakes. That's just a given in our culture. The best thing to do is to learn from our mistakes and don't do them again. God Bless

I think it entirely depens on what you restrict. In your example about parents, I didn't always want to rebel, and though I'm not Catholic, I can say not all preists are... uh... ya know.
I think our society restricts some of our actions.
But I think of it this way. Yes, we were given free will. I see it as a test, and a way we have to learn to control ourselves based on our religious/cultural influences.

Definitely man. I believe that we all have free will, so ultimately, we restrict ourselves. Historically, religious dogma serves those who are in political power. In regard to the issues with the Catholic priests, I feel that that pedophiles are attracted to the profession as opposed to the church creating them.

Man - god(s) don't exist.
And restricting things just makes them more attractive - think of how many movies would die if not for the "R" or "PG-13" rating that makes teens want to see something "forbidden."

man deprives man............
I call this Rut - ism.
That being, when a person is stuck in a rut........
Boredom and Complacency takes root in a human and growth ceases.
It's like strangling a new plant. Depriving it of the proper soil, the proper water, and the proper light.
Man should not allow this to happen in the sojourn known as "Life".

Why do your genes have such a powerful urge to reproduce if that's not what you're supposed to be doing?

Man restricts: Make something taboo and forbidden and humans will line-up to see why.

If God wants to restrict you he would send you to this earth without those tings he doesn't want you to do.
