People stay for many reasons - kids, money, security, fear of being alone, fear of the unknown, parents want them to stay, fear of change.
Bottom line, if you're unhappy and want out - seek counseling first. Make any decision with as clear of mindset as possible.
I was divorced after 18 years together - the first few years were hard - really hard. But I can say that I am much happier now than I was for the last 10 years of my marriage.

I find myself in a similar situation at the moment. The relationship is a little over two years old and everyday I realize even more that I do not love this person they way they "say" they love me. Because I know I feel this way it is very hard to give all of myself to her. I do know this...not only does it hurt me but it hurts the other person involved as well. It is probably best to leave.

I did for the kids and too bad because it didn't matter in the end. Life is suppose to be shared with people that love you and that you love back. Kids will grow up and move on.

May, personally I would not be in a relationship for that period of time that I didn't have feelings for.
