My sister in law had Trigeminal Neuralgia. Her doctor gave her a drug called Trileptal and she says the symptoms went away completely.

Trigeminal Neuralgia is also known as TIc Douleroux. The Trigeminal nerve is a cranial nerve (comes directly from the brain to the face). It is shaped like a fork with three tines and provides facial movement such as smiling or raising the eyebrows. Neuralgia just means pain in a nerve.

Have you seen a neurologist? They usually recommend prescription drugs like Lyrica, Neurontin, or Trileptal. Also, my mother had great success with a chiropractor who specialized in gentle manipulation, i.e., by hand and not with a device. Are your eyelids affected? A Band-Aid can help keep it closed when you're not in public, and lubricating eye drops either from the store or by prescription can help.
