Are you making the case ( or question ) that the Liberals are making a case for illegal immigrants by saying that American Indians are the same? If so, then the the following are my responses :
In order to "illegally immigrate", there must be laws on the books, a native people to protest, and an existing government.
Back 30-40,000 years ago, there were none - no laws, no government, no native people. People MIGRATED, they didn't immigate! Democrats can be so stupid, or is that just the liberals amongst them? If there were no humans, then it was perfectly justified for species to migrate on their own decisions.
While south American peoples may be native to the Texas / New Mexico areas, they were conquered by the Spanish, wars were fought over territories between English, French, and Spanish countries, and money paid for those lands by Governments. While it's a damn shame the Spanish conquered Mexico and the southern hemisphere, and it's a darn shame they lost to the French and English, I'm sure it's a darn MORE shame that the native peoples lost their lands to foreign "invaders" on all sides. However, that is how the world got populated, by "migrating" people and "immigrating" people, and fighting wars over territory. Does it make it "right" by today's "moral standings"? Maybe not, but we can't undo all that was done in the last 600-1000 years. We can only stop what is happening now. If it requires a war to "adjust " thinking, IE , it is wrong for Mexican, El Salvadoran, Guetamalan and other southern hemisphere people to just walk over our borders expecting to "migrate" without social costs, then it'll be a war. Which it is becoming. The Genie is out of the bottle, you can't send back slave descendants to Africa, the English to England, the Canadians to England/ France, the Spanish from South America. It's all over, done with. Borders are set now, if you want to change them, that will require war. Get ready, because it's coming.

I'm part Cherokee, was raised doing the powows on the plains (which was never part of our pre-colonial traditions FYI) and all that stuff. Native Americans were just the first wave.
Like Dorian greeks were the first wave of Greeks in the Agean during the Bronze age but were followed up by the different greek tribes such as Ionians, they were still immigrants like everyone else.
Everyone on the planet is a potential immigrant. Legal immigration is for EVERYONE's benefit. Illegal immigration is a worse solution for everyone than legal immigration.

Ok here is what I think.
Technically, WE are all immigrants to the Native Americans because they were all here before any of us europeans. However, now that a country is formed and a government has been established to care for the citizens of that country, everyone should have to be legal citizens.
Plus it was different when your ancestors and my ancestors immigrated here, they wanted as many people as they could get, to jumpstart the new CAPITAL economy, and to build all the infrastructure that is now in place.
However, now, illegal immigrants are draining certain government funded aids, and helping in others, so it's compicated relationship.
Bottom line, illegal is illegal, if they feel so strongly about he issue, become a legal citizen and vote and change things

No! They were here long before Luce walked up wright.
Evidence is so old it cant be found. Seriously it don't
matter. The 1st. ones here didn't have to steel land from
anyone. There are many words and customs among the
Cherokee that would strongly suggest that they are one of
the lost tribes of Israel. As part Cherokee I do not support
"illegal" As part Hunky. I do not support "illegal" Also I do
not support $1,000s in red tape, bribes and a 6 or 7 year
wait. I do support the people and understand there needs.
So if I'm soft on the "illegals" you have to blame it on the
Methodist missionary's who came to our land and tough
us to "love your neighbor as yourselves" Then the soldiers
came. But even after all that our Grandmothers tough us to
be kind to people and to lend a helping hand to the
strangers in our land. Had it not been for the missionary's
there would have been a blood bath and not a trail of tears.
Instead of learning Cherokee they beat the hell out of the
children for speaking the only language they had ever heard.
So yes I am sympathetic to any who is at a disadvantage.
Long answer to a short question. Hope it helps.

To question one, the answer is YES, but many history books leave this detail out. As for the people who "support" illegal immigration (a similar analogy would be one supports breaking and entering a private home), they're comparing apples and oranges but, as most politicians will tell you, seek an issue that appeals to your emotions rather than your logic.

Yes that is the theory, people were nomads in those days.... As for using the Native Americans in defending why breaking the law is okay I am assuming it is because they lived here for so many years prior to our arrival. I doubt many are proud of the way we got our auspicious beginning in this country. Every country has a similar background, name a country and we can list its conquers and the problems in its history - ours is no different. We now live in a time of laws and borders, like it or not.

Now ALL AMERICANS came from SIBERIA..... wow,you are really out there..... Whats your point? Irish people were fighting Indians In 1760 here In the USA... And whipping them.... Its not about being an IMMIGRANT or not, Its whether you are here LEGALLY or not. The UNITED STATES has sovereign BORDERS,that Its CITIZENS fought and DIED FOR... WE WON the Mexican/American War,and our current geography Is not up for INTERPRETATION. If Mexico,or anyone else wants to go to WAR to settle this a second time,I am sure that there would be plenty of AMERICANS to oblige.... This Is the UNITED STATES and If you don't like It.,please leave, because there are plenty of REAL AMERICANS that LOVE this country!!

well considering that the native Americans crossed over the Bering strait sometime around ohh... say... 16,000 B.C, I think it is safe to say that they were here first.
The arguement concerning illegal immigration and native Americans is that some people say that the native Americans were actually here first, and it was use who began mass migrating into the continent and forcing them onto resource-poor reserves. And now it seems what goes around, comes around, and now it is the white people becoming upset that other people are migrating into their land without their permission.
Take it or leave it, that's how the arguement goes.

None that are alive today. Just as anyone born in the US (and is still here) isn't an immigrant.
But yes, the original Native Americans were immigrants.
