We are going to New York City and we wanted to go see Hairspray. We also want to do a lot of other things, so we are getting the cheapest tickets which are 75 dollars. IT shows that we are in the back corner in the last row of the theater. Is this that bad of a seat? The theater is pretty small, so are there any bad seats? Is it a waste to spend $75 on those seats?

Hairspray is worth seeing in any seat in the theater. On Broadway all the seats are good, some are just better than others.

I just saw Hairspray last Sunday. I had front center mezzanine, 2nd row for about the same price. You might want to check out www.broadwaybox.com before settling on the seats you're talking about. That site lists all Broadway/Off-Broadway shows and which ones have discounts. Hairspray is currently discounted for certain days at this time. I'm in NYC about 4 times a year and always relied on that site.

Well, when I saw Hairspray, I sat in mezzanine, the second to last row in the corner, almost close to the aisle. Although it was quite far, it was definitely worth it, as I loved the original movie with Ricki Lake. I'd definitely say do it, it's such a great experience, and I'm very excited for the new movie coming up. But it really depends on you, if you reaaaally prefer sitting closer for more money.

i can't help you with the seats, but for what it's worth, hairspray is such an amazing experience that you'll probably not be paying much attention to where your seated. the whole atmosphere and energy is just so much fun, so with $75 tickets- you really can't go wrong. good luck! i hope this helps.
