Sorry dude, they either will not read it, refuse to understand it or just refer you to irrelevant links.
I have often posted links to educational material and it has never made a difference. That is why the term wilfully ignorant applies to them.
You can show them the lies and deceits of Answers in Genesis or North West Creation and they just ignore them and post the same stuff all over again. It would be funny if it was not so incredibly sad.

Of course evolution is both a fact and a theory. I wish people understood the theory of evolution. I wish they understood what a theory was and realized why theories never turn into facts. I wish explaining it was not so incredibly useless.

"A "theory" in science is an explanation of the observations."

Explanations can be wrong and observations can be misinterpreted.

For example, many years ago some scientists saw the spread of certain illnesses increase when the sales of coca-cola increased. They concluded that Coke was the cause.

It turned out that the cause was misquotes. As the weather got hot, people would drink more Coke, but more misquotes would also be present.

I believe the theory of evolution is much like this. Things have been observed, but the wrong conclusions have been reached.

For example, the fruit flies mentioned in the article you linked to. Some have observed small changes in fruit flies, and they have concluded that this proves that one species can evolve into another. These fruit flies, however, are still fruit flies.

They may be able to adapt within a certain range within their species, however, they are still only fruit flies. It has never been observed that a fruit fly ever became any other kind of inscet, yet that is the conclusion evolutionists come to.

Evolutionists have observed certain "facts", yet they ignore others, therefore, I believe their explanations are faulty. They ignore the evidence against evolution. ALL of the evidence should be considered.

Evolutionists have their "theory", and now they are seeking "facts" that support it. Our explanations should come from the things observed, but they are trying to observe based on the things they have explained! Anything observed that does not fit what is expected, is rejected as faulty.

This is faulty reasoning.

Hi,
So you picked wikipedia as your great source of information. Did you know that the definitions chosen are by popular vote, and sometimes do not reflect the true meaning of the word. Just thought you should be informed. Be careful your other leg might fall out from under you also! Then you truly won't have a leg to stand on! : ) Just wondering how much Chemistry and Physics you have studied over your lifetime? Me IBM 29+ years, and I still can't chemically put Evolution together. In fact Evolutionary Theory has so many holes I'm felling a draft. On the other hand Life and the rest of the universe appears to be the work of Genius far beyond what man can yet comprehend. If you're going to play Scientist, I suggest you sharpen that pencil of yours and buy a whole box of erasers. You're going to need them! ; )

what's your point? Shoving "factual" arguments down people's throats doesn't work out too well for either side of the debate. (btw... wikipedia isn't the most scholarly source ever)
