I have always been a kind and peaceful person. I am proud of the fact that I have never raised my hands to a single person in my life. Now, I find myself in a feud with a simple-minded person (my sister-in-law) who surely will come at me with violence. You see, her boyfriend, who was released from prison a few months ago, gained entry to my home one morning and assaulted me. When I told my husband and the news got to his sister, she decided to convince herself that I wanted that to happen to me, and has gone on a hate vendetta against me. (Her boyfriend's story is that he doesn't remember what he did.) She is still with him, but continues to persecute me. So, after almost thirty years of never having to physically fight someone, I know that inevitably she will try to fight me. I am taller and much stronger than she is, and if it comes down to a fight I want to be able to not only defend myself, but do it well. Please help me find the best way to prepare myself for this. Thanks

Be confident and tell her what you think.

get a tazer. Something that will shock someone to the ground quickly but not cause any permanent damage.

In order to gain respect from someone it is NOT necessary to take away the respect from someone else. This is a very powerful concept.
IF you ever find yourself in a position where you need to defend yourself the most important thing is to keep complete control of your mind. People that feel the drive to fight are almost always out of control acting in an emotionally wreckless way. You can actually use their energy against them. If you ever study any martial arts you will learn just how much of it is meditative and mind control.
If someone comes after you in a wreckless way, and you are bigger and stronger than her as you say, spend the first even minute letting them burn their energy trying to hit you push you etc.. just fend them off use as little energy as possible, they will become so full of rage and quickly burn all their energy. Then you will have an enormous upper hand.

There may circumstances where you must defend yourself,

Really the best way to defend yourself use not to physically fight at all.

violence isn't always right but sometimes it is the only way...to avoid getting hurt, stay as far away from her as possible, but if it comes down to the point where she is in your face and there is no avoiding defending yourself grab her by her adams apple (throat) and squeeze the adams apple, you will cut off her air supply and she can't fight...women who fight by pulling hair and scratching are leaving themselves open to someone who knows how to inflict damage.....a self defense course i took about 20 years ago taught me that......but the best thing to do is not to put yourself in the situation where you are alone with her and risk the chance of getting into a confrontation...

if she runs at you quickly thrust your palm up under her nose as fast and as hard as you can if you do it right you will brake her nose and she will be on the floor. if that doesn't work or you don't want to do it then punch in the face around the nose and eyes area that way she will close her eyes for a couple of seconds and you will have a chance to kick her butt.

You want to physically fight someone who sleeps with an excon who assaulted you? Ok, that's a bad idea.

Move.

a roundhouse kick to the head or side of the face can knock her unconcious with one blow or you can just smack her over the head with a pipe
