Personally I think that he's both. Anyone who would use such a lame argument as the "crocoduck" (honestly I thought it was a bad joke when someone told me about it. My first reaction was to say "there is NO way that anyone could be that ignorant of science could there?" Sadly I was wrong) can't be firing on all cylinders.
But what I want to know is; what motivates people like him? Why would anyone want to steer others away from science and reality? And instead lead them down the primrose path to a world of make believe and fairy-tales?
Or is that the point? To give people false notions about the world around them? To say "god did it" certainly is simpler, but it's entirely false.
Your thoughts?

Kallan,
Agreed, anyone who would take mythology and fairy-tales over reality really is scary.

Haha, I love the crocoduck argument. Did you see the televised debate that was on ABC?

I'm not sure many people take him seriously.

lol ill-educated idiot.. the crocoduck was bad enough, but you'd think they'd have taken time to research the origins of the banana we eat today before saying God made it that way.

He got indoctrinated at age 17 into this mess, and was coerced into using his former fame and popularity to "preach the word". To them, science and reality are not real. Only what that bible says is real.
It's a scary thing, really.

PPL often use humor to make a point with others that wont hear God. Kirk Cameron is not only a nice guy, but a great preacher. He will seem corny to you as most Christians will, that are true Christians, because we have innocent and pure ways and humor, that is so foreign to the ppl in the world.
What motivates Him? The love of God motivates him as he wants us all to know about it, the same as anyone that preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ.
God tells us about false science, and says when it doesnt agree with what He says, it is false science and we are to flee from it. But, there is also science that will back up every word used in the precious words of God, but we rarely get to hear it, unless we look for it. There are so many scients in the world today that are Christian and they have a whole different outtake than the secular wordly scientists. Devil put those false scientists in to lead us away from Jesus.
you believe in big bang, huh? Well If I handed you a new car and say it came from an explosion yesterday from billions of miles up and it just happened, you would laugh at me. Yet you can believe that this whole universe, including us humans came from a big bang. No, just like the car, we were planned and designed. amen INTELLIGENT DEISGN.
Fairy tales? If you cant believe you came from an explosion and yet not be able to tell me where all the gases from that exploded, then I can sell you some swampland in Africa for a real good deal. No, I am only joking, there is that Chrsitian humor again trying to make a point.
the devil gives false notions to drag us away from God. the Bible tells us all about it. God is not false HE is real and so is the devil. BUt if you believe things just are and have no explanation either where THAT all began, then tonight you can be at home in your yard hoping for an explosion and maybe you will receive a new car, or a new house, whatever. Sounds simple huh? NO. the only one that brings us good things is God, whether you believe it or not YOu should be thanking Him, instead of mocking Him, but its all choice I will pray for you to know Jesus soon, before its too late.

I have mixed opinions on Kirk Cameron. First if he has genuinly became a true born again Christian I applaud him for that. However I hope he hasn't been emotionally tricked into to simply accepting a GET OUT OF HELL FREE ticket that most so called Christians seem to promote. Simply listening to his speeches (I don't call him a preacher) it seems he is pushing the "Scare you out of hell" gospel. I don't see that anywheres in my Bible. His stand against evolution is not wrong but I wouldn't use it as a way to lead people to Christ. My Bible says to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ as the redeemer of our sins and to love others. I think Kirk Cameron needs to either one get truely born again...or educate himself on how to properly preach the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST and drop the "Scare you out of Hell" tacktic.

Im just glad he believes in God. He will go to heaven. Unlike you. Im talking abot your little comment to the question "A child told me this" - "The bible is mythology and bronze-age folk tales. Nothing more." Um, youre wrong. Have fun in hell.

God bless
I'll pray for you tonight

He's just using his fame and looks to spout his agenda. Do you really think he's the "brains" behind his so-called ministry? Some Christian MBA took a look at him and they cooked up this whole thing in order to bilk people out of their money. You have a recognizable celebrity whom some women will go ga-ga over, and send in their checks. Simple as that.

God is very real and not to be mocked regardless of your opinion or beliefs on Kirk Cameron's style of reaching out to people. He is using all cylinders just fine..it just maybe that you are upset when hearing the power of God's word mentioned. It isn't what you agree with and makes you mad to listen to it. Don't shoot the messenger.

Hello Yoda Green.. :)

Kirk Cameron..used to be an Atheist..so I do not think he is ill-educated..

He Loves the Lord with all of his heart..to you, they may be false notions about the world around them..but to us, they are "Now" reality..

I know..I too am an ex-Atheist..

It is not a lot simpler to say God did it..look at all that make fun of us, for believing in our Lord..

Do you not think it would be easier for us to just deny Him, and go with the crowd..so we are not poked fun of..

I know that the Lord is real and though I may be called names..I will Never denounce my Lord or my Faith in Him.. :)

I say this in Love.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)
