The US Forest service is planning on closing 1,800 miles of Eldorado County back country to the public. What is your opinion about this?

that sucks... i am in NC. but i am an avid 4wheeler and dirtbiker...i have a raptor =)

Depends on where you live. Here, dune buggys that are correctly equipped are street legal. It's mostly like a kit car. It takes a VW frame and engine. You buy the fiberglass body and supply the donor frame and engine. (Some places will build the thing, but that gets expensive!) Then you equip it as you see fit. They will take the fenders, lights, mirrors, etc., that are needed to make them street legal. Just don't drive it like you stole it. Unless you are off road and can't hit anything or anyone. Good part about one of these is you don't have to put your feet down when you stop, and are built a bit stronger than a dual purpose 2 wheeler. They are very light, very quick, and handle in sand like you would not believe! Not really a practical commuter car since they are open to the weather. Creature comforts are also in short supply. They also tend to handle in a poor manner in the rain on pavement since they are rear biased weight wise. Like a bike, you need to treat them according to the conditions you are driving in.
