i dont think it would be a sin because you can't really control what you dream about. Go ahead and ask God!

No, it is not sinful. Of course you can ask God why you are dreaming these dreams. You can ask God anything and everything!
The dream state is nothing to be ashamed of. There could be answers to questions you have had in your dreams.
If it wasn't ok with God for you to dream these themes, you would not be having them. Do not let yourself feel bad about any of your dreams. God works in mysterious ways.

Dreams are the ways of subconscious mind to deal with and sort out millions of sights,sounds,words.thoughts and other inputs received by us through our senses and are most important for our mental balance and it's growth.We can not have any significant control over our dreams and therefore,we can not commit any sin if we dream of violence,sex or any thing considered as such. Go ahead and have wonderful dreams,without any qualms or concern.

If the dreams are under your control [like you daydream about this stuff], then it would be sinful, however, if you are sleeping and these dreams just appear, then it could hard be a sin, since you have no control over them in your sleep.

Since you cannot control your dreams, you are not misbehaving. For a reason known only to God, He chose to implant those desires within us. We can repress them when we are awake. Our dreams allow us to see that, while we can push them away when we are awake, we have not gotten rid of them all together. If you are Christian, than you can think of it as a window into your sinful nature. And if you are Christian, you are forgiven for your nature. So don't worry.

but if you are a homeless, lonely, gay man... dreaming about being president of the US and sex with the first lady--that would just be wierd...
you can ask God about dreams, but he may not answer..
