I have an american long hair cat she is about 11 mos old and she sucks her own nipples ... Really while she is laying down going to sleep she sucks like a kid would suck there thumb.
Anyone know why???

Has she been fixed? Exposed to the 'outside' world in the last few weeks? When a female cat is preggers, like any other female, her hormones are running wild. IF SHE IS PREGNANT, sucking or licking her nipples might take the stress off the glands that are stretching and gathering Milk for the kittens to come.
If she not Preggers, give it a 2-3 weeks, you'll see, she maybe comforting herself. She's using her own nipples to take her back to the same comfort she felt when she was nestled into the same place with her mother. She wants love, give her cuddles, she'll like that too.
Yes, some cats do have a thing for earlobes. Since Earlobes look like the engorged nipples of yesteryear, can you really blame them?

hmmmm...never heard of that one before,ive heard of sucking blankets,around peoples necks or ears,even on the family dog or another cat but never ones own nipples, i guess she does it because she can and,it is a comforting thing for her she may have been weaned too early,that will sometimes cause them to suck on things but maybe not some cats are just neurotic that way,as far as i know there is no way to stop her from doing so,i guess you just enjoy your unique kitty with her unique habit and accept her for the way she is

No she is not gonna get sick it's normal after they have had kittens that are weaned because they miss the feel I know it's hard to believe but it's true.

Its comforting to her. I had a kitty that would suck on everyones ear lobes. And yes its kinda like a binky I think to them.
