"Christians saw the social fabric of their community unravelling and the Nazis promised to restore order by attacking godlessness, homosexuality, abortion, liberalism, prostitution, pornography, obscenity, etc." ...Sounds scarily like fundamentalist Christians in USA today doesn't it?

Hitler may not be an atheist but he was certainly NOT a Christian. He said "Christianity and Judaism does not suit Germany" If you read the "notes of Bormann" he praises Islam and disdains Christianity, which is interesting.
The church was an alternative ideology to Nazism. Why on earth would Hitler like to promote religion? Do you think he poses with priests just because he is a sincere Christian? Please stop being naive. He supported the church and the church supported him as long as they had common interests.
Take Mussolini for instance, he was not a Christian but he made peace with the Church. (Lateran pact) But when Mussolini interfered with the youth groups of the catholic church oops everything went topsy-turvy. We're coming to the same issue, Mussolinism was an alternative to Catholicism and Mussolini did not want young people to be taught Christianity. Instead he wanted children to join fascist youth group Balilla. Hitler was no different than Mussolini, in fact contrary to the common beliefs it was Hitler who copied Mussolini first.
People often try to identify their idols with their own values. But I'm sure Hitler would not be fond of being called a Christian.
p.s I don't believe that occultism, paganism non-sense in my opinion that was merely a tool to break the power of Christianity in Germany.
p.s 2. It's a joke that people quote the speeches of Hitler to show he was a Christian, anyone who has a brain would not insult religion before the public.

Hitler was no more a Christian than you are (you can't be or you would not have asked such a question).
Nor did he have the full support of Christians in Germany.
There are sufficient answers here to allow you to conclude the truth. As Jesus said Ye shall know them by their fruits. Tens of millions of dead in Europe are the fruits of this socialist Satanically possessed damned man. It wasn't just Jews who were killed by the national socialists. I refer you to the book The Ominous Parallels by Leonard Peikoff which explains the answer to the two questions I could not find until I read the book. These are how did a modern advanced so called Christian nation allow Hitler to appear and rule? and secondly why did a huge number of German Jews just play the game without resisting? Read his book (LP is Ayn Rand's protoge and as such is not a Christian) - you will learn enough to allow you to ask some helpful questions next time.

These are just a few:
The book Hitler's Secret Conversations 1941-1944 published by Farrar, Straus and Young, Inc.first edition, 1953, contains definitive proof of Hitler's real views. The book was published in Britain under the title, _Hitler's Table Talk 1941-1944, which title was used for the Oxford University Press paperback edition in the United States.
All of these are quotes from Adolf Hitler:
Night of 11th-12th July, 1941:
National Socialism and religion cannot exist together.... The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity.... Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things. (p 6 & 7)
10th October, 1941, midday:
Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure. (p 43)
14th October, 1941, midday:
The best thing is to let Christianity die a natural death.... When understanding of the universe has become widespread... Christian doctrine will be convicted of absurdity.... Christianity has reached the peak of absurdity.... And that's why someday its structure will collapse.... ...the only way to get rid of Christianity is to allow it to die little by little.... Christianity the liar.... We'll see to it that the Churches cannot spread abroad teachings in conflict with the interests of the State. (p 49-52)

Hitler was not a christian! Most Nazis were not christian! They were occultists and pagans! Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, Josef Goebbels, Reinhard Heydrich, and countless Nazi leaders were occultists. The festivals, speeches, and ceremonies performed in Nazi Germany were designed to worship the sun, and "Aryan supremacy." You should also note, the Aryans, an ancient race, are known for occultism and paganism. Hitler even persecuted Catholics, Gays, and Communists during the Holocaust, along with the Jews! Hope I could shed some light on the topic!

No.
You will see a lot of out of context quotes by Hitler about religion. Generally Hitler contradicts himself in the area of religion which is why you will not see these quotes given in context.
Hitler was an atheist who used religious beliefs to justify his cause.
This is really a very hypocritical argument by atheists.
Lincoln wrote about and made speeches invoking religious beliefs and Atheists will say that these were "opiates of the masses" that Lincoln used.
Then atheists will use similar quotes by Hitler to prove Hitler was a "Christian".
Both Hitler and Lincoln made recorded statements concerning their disbelief in God. There is a huge difference though.
Lincoln was manic depressive, often swinging into bouts of suicidal depression where he wrote poetry about dying and hated God. At other times Lincoln believed fully in God. This is obvious to anyone who does any real research on the subject.
Hitler was a psychotic megalomaniac, not a manic depressive. Very different.

Hitler is a good example to be used for those who mistakenly believe that one is a Christian because of having been baptized as a baby or of having a religious parent. Apparently Hitler's mother was a Catholic but Hitler himself was not a follower of our Lord Jesus' teachings.
Hitler was a politician, saying whatever he wanted to get ahead with his own agenda and that included trying to win over all the Christians by making references to God, etc. in his speeches.
I will include one of his personal quotes about Christianity that he gave at the end, as recorded by his secretary.
"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together....
"The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity's illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity....
"Let it not be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." (p 6 & 7, Hitler's Table Talk,1953)
Definitely not a follower of Jesus who taught people to love one another and to bless their enemies.

Hitler was not an atheist, but neither was he Christian. The Nazi Party was very, very good at propoganda. Part of that propoganda was telling the lies necessary to get the German people to follow them and that included appealing to their religiosity.
Read the lyrics for "The Anatomy of an Enemy" by NoFX. While I don't usually look for wisdom in punk song lyrics this particular song is very accurate in how to create an enemy.

Hitler was raised in a Catholic home.
He went on to be an occultist and most likely an ATHEIST, like other murderers of tens of millions of innocent people, STALIN, POL POT and MAO. Hitler did use Christianity to deceive some of his people. He murdered true Christians who opposed him based on their Christian beliefs. Bonhoffer is one of them (google him).
To this day, Atheists try to make the case that Hitler was a Christian. They look foolish in the process. All we need do is compare a mans actions to the teachings of Jesus and see if he truly is a Christian. Hitler was most certainly not. His actions were more like other ATHEIST MURDERS listed above.

Yes,Hitler was a Christian and he thought he was doing gods work when he started cleaning up Germany.Pope Pius, who was seated very comfortably away from any of the fighting used to bless the tanks that were being sent into battle against the allies and if Papal Infallibility is to be believed,he had the backing of god but, hey, were all allowed to make a couple of little mistakes,it's only a few million deaths, well, maybe a few more million than a few million.
