I don't understand how so many otherwise logical people can be a victim of Blind Faith. How can one believe in God with no tangible evidence? I realize the safety valve of saying things such as "God is in everywhere" but really is there any more proof that God exists than there is proof that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist? Why does God get this "free pass" regarding evidence? If you believe in God then you surely must be open to the existence of the Tooth Fairy? If not, then why?

To John D Ayer:
By definition, all empirical evidence must be tangible.

D2Tru: I could just as easily say that the Tooth Fairy gave me the same things that you claim God gave me/you. You have not provided any proof....neither have I.

Anothe one for John D Ayer:
Your profile speaks of you wondering why people attack ones physical traits but then you go on to call a group of liberal people stupid. So is it ok to attack certain parts of people? Perhaps the parts you feel secure about in yourself? Is that the Christian way? And how do you know they are stupid? Is it because they don't agree with you? Is stupidity tangible?

I agree with D2True! The existence of an outside intelligence CAN AND HAS been acceptably proved!
The Christian "God" CANNOT AND HAS NOT! That is why their Blind Faith is necessary!
Speaking for myself, I KNOW the outside intelligence exists; I also KNOW that ANY religious description of IT is neither accurate nor acceptable FOR ME!

I am really interested in this answer since I am a Christian and do not believe in "Blind Faith".
I am not sure anyone who does exists.
I would like to see if you get any answers from people who have "blind faith".
Oh, and by the way, tangible evidence is very different from empirical evidence. Tangible means able to be felt, real. Tangible evidence would be a signed statement from someone who has spoken with Christ, God, or angel. Empirical evidence would be the registering of increased energy levels around the person during a spiritual conversation. Both of these exist.
PS: Not seeing something is not the same thing as being blind. You may not see your keys on the table, that does not make you blind.

::::EDITED:::
Ravi Zacharius www.rzim.org goes into great detail as to why intrinsic worth and "objective" moral values only makes sense if there is a Christian God.
He is a brilliant man from India who is a Christian apologist.
From a science standpoint I think the evidence for God is overwhelming. And Hugh Ross even makes the claim that the Christian God can be verified by science. www.reasons.org
You sound very intelligent, and it also sounds like you are going through much the same things I did.
I went through many phases in my search - atheism, agnosticism, New Age/spiritual (I am/was a Reiki Master)
But nothing seemed to quite fill all the holes.
I reseached and studied until I was about 99% sure the God of the Bible was the Truth.
I got on my knees and prayed for God to make me 100% sure and he did. My testimony is way too long to share but it was an incredible journey.
If you have studied the Bible and find some things difficult to accept - as I did and anyone just doing a casual reading - you need to go to the resources that will better explain what it means and why.
You owe it to yourself and out of respect that it may just be the Word of God.
www.tektonics.org - a little hard edged but he deals mostly with atheist attacks.
www.christian-thinktank.com - extremely intelligent with a gentler approach.
I pray that you find your answers.

It is so very true that it is a matter of faith, the Bible says we can not please God without faith, it is I believe the currency of our relationship with Him.
But it is not blind, we have the convicting power of God's word and perhaps more significantly, the work of His Holy Spirit, (most often through His word). It is His Holy Spirit that convicts us of our need for salvation, it's His Spirit that woo's us and draws us closer to Him.
Believers believe because they know the truth, it's that simple. For me (and I suspect for many other born again believers), it was not until I had taken that step of faith that I had certain confirmation that I had done the right thing. That's what makes it an act of faith and that's why God was pleased.
As for God getting a free pass, well He doesn't need one, but we do and fortunately by God's grace we have one in Jesus Christ, but it does take faith, though not blind faith.

I agree purple that Mikey has been taken care of with new child gloves and everyone else who isn't blind could have been up for nomination like a shot if that they had his disgusting conduct. You point out Darnell, which in thought isn't any distinctive to Mikey, yet he has been nominated lots of circumstances for plenty much less. it particularly is genuinely unfair and that i'm hoping in the event that they are all up for eviction the commonplace public will recognize and vote Mikey out previously the merely suited. it particularly is genuinely unfair if he has a place there.

What is blind in my faith?
Jesus empty tome a fact of history?
The fact that you cant justify Evil, morals or Logic without God?
The Change in my life and millions of people around the world?
I am more sure abo0ut Jesus Christ than I am about myself.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Please listen to this debate and see if you can come up with a better answer than the Atheist.

Deluded people will try anything and go to any desperate measures to remain locked within their delusion...any excuse and almost any lie plus the favourite unreason clause will be employed if it keeps them safe in there a little bit longer and it makes evading an awkward question easier..
