Why do you worship a god which you at the beginning can not tutor exists, and 2d of all threatens to torture your father consistently while he did not do something incorrect. I propose once you are going to worship some imaginary being, why think of up this type of heartless tyrannical cosmic bully which will torture somebody for eternity for not stroking its ego. How would desire to your heaven be paradise in case you have been there, understanding your father replace into being tortured for being skeptical. Your faith is using spooky threats to emotionally torment you, protecting you emotionally based on the church instead of thinking needless to say. Ask him if he can clarify issues like skepticism with out making jokes. And in substitute, you will desire to truly pay attention to what he's asserting instead of spending the full time attempting to think of up excuses. yet heavily, do not watch "the keenness of the Christ", this is basically a snuff action picture. A torture flick that scapegoats Jews. that's objective is to place a guilt trip on you, to not make you think of or improve as a guy or woman or additionally be basically entertained.

I didn't cry, but I got very angry. Mel Gibson made the movie violent on purpose to drive the point home about the suffering that Jesus went through. It had to be brutal to be accurate. And as one other person said here,, even then it wasn't as brutal as what Jesus truly went through.
As for the person who said they laughed. If you or a loved one went through that would you be laughing then?

Im not heartless, cause im a believer ,but I didnt cry. I made sure I watched the beatings to let my mind get a full visual of what christ went through. It was bloody. But in the end, there was a reason. eventhough there was alot of problems with the movie, it was a Great Movie.

Not being an ostrich I don't put my head in the sand and proclaim myself somehow superior to humans who could, can and do unto their brothers that which was done unto Christ.
I have the DVD. I watch it each Easter. I flinch, I cry, I cuss, I start trying to repair my Andy's Handy-Dandy Portable Pocket Time Machine again, determined to go back there and flay those rats alive for daring to lay an unkind hand on my Master.
Then I remember, this horror HAD to be. It had to be because of me, because of you, because of each and every one of us; "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God".
So I drop the fradx back into the bin, put the droggets back in the drawer, finish watching the movie and once again promise to try harder to be better and more faithful so that His sacrifice will not be in vain in my case.
I have, I'm truly sorry about this, NO patience with the nicely-nicelies who cannot bear to think about His pain or His tormentors evil. To them I say, "Get a grip. Real is real. It's in your face and either you come to grips with it or it's gonna up and bite you on the bum when you least expect it. You might not survive because nothing's more poisonous than the evil man can and does unleash on his fellows. WAKE UP and smell the brimstone, people!"

I never saw the movie and doubt if I ever will. when I was a young christian in my early 20's I would cry when reading the account in the bible though.

it was difficult for me to watch-i kept thinking, "He endured all this for me..." i kept wanting to scream, "Stop it! Why are you doing this to Him?"...it did help me to get a better understanding of the depth of His love for us-it's one thing to read the new testament accounts of His suffering, but quite a different thing altogether to see what all that entailed...yes, i did cry-i can't imagine how someone with a shred of humanity in them could watch that and not be moved to tears

I read the book!!!
More than once!!
It's the only / best version out.
Lack of want.
No, Way would I go see a 'man's'
personal vision of Christ's impalment.
I do not view/watch R rated movies.
When @ a book study
the man leading the study
had us close our eyes,
and "go there" in our mind's eye.
It made me cry.
It was more than enough for me.

Yes. I wept like a little child...and I still weep thinking about it.
Anyone who could watch that movie and not cry is not someone I'd want my children or grandchildren to know.
I also have the movie on DVD...but I don't think I could bear to watch it again.
When I think of what Christ went through, it tells me just how horrible sin is, and how much suffering it has brought.
But He has conquered Death, and we will live forever with Him in a Kingdom where there is no more sin.
He believed we were worth it. I look around myself, and at myself...and I have to say, I'm inclined to disagree with Him...but He says we're worth it, and He loves us.
He loves me. He knows all about all the deep, dark secrets of my heart...things I won't even admit to myself...and yet, He loves me.
There is nothing to do but bow in adoration, and humbly thank Him for such undeserved, and yet, unconditional love.
Please, Lord...make me, every day, more and more the woman YOU want me to be!!
