Sphynx are hairless cats, however because they have no fur to distribute their natural body oils in, some leave greasy spots on furniture which can be even trickier to clean than hair unless you don't have upholstered furniture.

Devon Rex (my breed) and Cornish Rex (more active and vocal than Devons) shed very little. All cats shed, but with these rex cats, typically what they do shed is ingested during self-grooming.

I wear black clothes all the time and rarely have to brush myself off. After owning a longhaired cat, Devons are a wonderful treat, however I didn't choose the breed for its low-shedding characteristics. I chose it for its cuddly, dog-like temperament and its unique look.

Good luck with your research!

You can get a hairless cat, but they are very sensitive to temperature. Cats have a higher body temperature than people, so the hairless cats need a very warm house. The heating bill will be extremely high. If you can, buy and knit or crochet sweaters for the cat. Find what type of fabrics and yarns are most comfortable to the cat. And always have stadium blankets for him/her to cuddle in.

There a hairless cats, they are special breeds of cats. The breed is called Sphynx. There is another breed, they are called Selkirk Rex, there fur is curly. Siamese don't shed at all all. They are good for people that have severe allegies. I have notice that Medium haired cats don't shed as much, that is my ex[erience. There fur comes out in clumps and it doesn't fly around when you pet them. There fur doesn't stick to your face like the shorthaired cats.

I agree that if you want a cat that doesn't shed, you'll have to get one of the hairless kinds. Otherwise, be prepared to do a lot of dusting and vacuuming.

And keep in mind that there are other expenses that come with taking care of a cat.

Good luck!

You don't get a cat that does not shed at all, you do, however get ones that shed less.
It's well documented that hairless cats shed dander as well, in some cases more so, so don;t think that's a whortcut, since they are hairless they need other things normal cat's don't.

Well you can get any cat that you want. and if you scared it might shed then just brush it 2 or 3 times a week. but if you do not want to do that then just get one of the cats from england that are bald.
