A thousand years is as a watch in the night. GOD is omniscient and eternal. GOD's ways are as far above our own as teh HEAVEN's are above the Earth.
Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday, which is past. And as a watch in the night,
LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

It is true that one day with man is as a thousand years with God, however, that is exactly why God specifically said in Genesis that "the evening and the morning were the first day", etc....
So as to tell you that God means a day with man, a 24-hr. period, so that man is NOT confused thinking he meant 1000 yrs.
And yet, people are for some reason confused anyway, even when its been made so clear.
Here is something that should REALLY give you something to consider:
The manuscripts all but cement the fact that what you read in Genesis 1 IS NOT A DESCRIPTION of the FIRST CREATION of this Earth. Its clear that it describes Gods rejuvinating the Earth to ready it for flesh habitation.
This Earth, according to the Bible, is eons and eons in age; an uncountable vast age.
In fact, Scripture tell us of three Earth Ages;
one that was, the one we live in now, and one that is yet to come.
Scripture describes an entire earth age before Adam and Eve ever came on the scene.
Yet, there are people who have even built a Museum to dedicate to their lack of knowledge of the Scriptures, and those people have even set themselves up as if they are somehow "leaders in Christianity".
I question whether they could lead someone to the toilet.
There is only one leader in Christianity, and thats Jesus Christ; no where in the Word
does it state this earth is only 6000 years old. People simply do not understand the original languages, nor do they understand figures of speech used.
They prefer to listen to each other spouting nonsense rather than to the simplicity in which God taught.
Its dispicable at best. I have 7yr old students who are more biblically literate than any "creationist" I have ever met.
And do not mistake that yes, I believe God created everything that is, and nothing that is, is not created by Him. I believe when God says in his Word that this Earth is
billions upon billions upon billions of years in age.

this is an surprising question. the terrific answer i've got heard so some distance has to do with the reality that once God created Adam and all the flora and animals and timber and such, that they have got been already complete grown. So if a botanist have been transported lower back in time to the 6th day of creation and he examined a tree after reducing it down he could end that the tree replace into countless years old using advance rings equipped into it. An anthropologist could end an identical element approximately Adam even although they have been the two in basic terms one or 2 days old. in an identical way, while God created the celebrities for signs and indicators and for seasons He would desire to have supernaturally led to the sunshine that travels from those distant galaxies to already be seen in the international.

This is not a literal comparison. It means that to Jehovah God, time as we know it has no meaning. Not that He does not understand it, but a lot of time can go by and to God it can seem like a short time.
The 'six' days of creation indicate that some effort was expended. A bit like a good furniture maker would not create fine furniture too quickly. the time it takes infers quality.
God could just as easily have created the universe instantly, but this would imply little effort. A lot of effort demands credit.
The universe and the earth has been in existence for billions of years. As is proved, dinosaurs used to roam the earth.
It is MAN who has the short earth history. check out the ages of the Patriarchs at Genesis chapter five, and the geneology of Jesus from Adam. Matthew and Luke.
The figures the Bible gives shows that man has been in existence for 6-8,000 years. The animals a lot longer.

This whole "Theist v/s Atheist" debate gets hostile, doesn't it. I see both sides resorting to threats and insults way too much.
I'm more ashamed of the theists. They believe that they have a higher power to answer to, and their behavior is not typically what God is wanting out of them. And they make people like me, theists who try to make sense of things rather than just believe them for beliefs sake, look bad.
The "one day is as a thousand years" thing would certainly explain how Adam lived to 930. And there hasn't been 100 years that have gone by since Jesus' time that we haven't had some joker running around the world who people believed was the Antichrist. (some of them were Popes, ironically!)
Your question assumes that you know what God's overall plan for creation was. I don't know about you, but I sure don't. Who is to say that things are not moving along exactly as he planned?
And unfortunately, the scripture you are referring to (II Peter 3:1-18) warned the 'deluded' specifically to beware of 'scoffers' like yourself (v3-4). You're gonna get some hostile response.

Well actually the bibledegook records the creation as in 6 of our days - it even contains a definition of what a day is (evening and morning) so that there can be no doubt of figurative interpretation.
Which begs the question why is the bibledegook so far out of line with all observed evidence.

I really don't know what are you trying to say but in my sense the earth is most typical thing to understand in whole universe so which thing is most typical to understand it is more hardest to make. that's why god takes 6000 years to make it.
