I live in a small town called Manjimup in Western Australia and I really want to do hairdressing. The problem is that I am 18 and the sallons seem to want girls a little younger. I have done 4 months in a salon in Perth but I had to leave beacause of... well, 101 reasons! I have been around my town and surrounding towns trying to get one but nothing! I dont know of any hairdressing schools in WA and I cant move out of Manjimup. Please help, I am desperate! When I am qualified I want to open up a hairdressing school so that I can help all the girls like me who want to go down this career path but are finding that getting an appreticeship is too hard. How can I learn to become a hairdresser if no none will give me a chance. I dont understand, I'm passionate about hairdressing, a fast learner, bright and bubbly and I have great people skills. Someone please tell me what to do, I dont want to give up on this dream!

I would leave this town if I could but my boyfriend is here, I cant afford to live anywhere else because I have lots of debts, mainly from a car accident and I would have no where else to live if I moved. Money is real tight!

Don't give up! Keep knocking on doors, ask everyone around to keep it in mind so If they hear of a place that will take you, they will let you know. Sometimes people just need to hear how determined you are. You may have to leave your town. I know how hard that is -I just moved 2,000 miles from the place I was born and raised. But it might be necessary.
