Hell is a state of mind. Christian and other RELIGIONS have taught us to believe there is a hell below us.
Hell is what some believe to be the struggles one faces while on earth.

No: The english word hell as been mis-used, mistranslated, mis-understood and and religious leaders have used this word hell to simply scare people since 1610 when the New Translation of the King James version of the Holy Scriptures came out, along with other false teachings such as the trinity doctrin, veneration of the cross, calling leaders of the churches, Father, Rabbi, Pope, Cardinals, and so on.
Hell was translated from the greek word hade's. The definition of hade's is hole, pit or grave with no rendering of fire or heat.
Hade's was translated from the hebrew word She'ol which means hole, grave or the place that all living things go to after death, also there is no rendering what so ever as to any kind of torment, fire, heat, purgatory as some churches teach.
Look up Eccl 9:5,6 and you will see the condition of the dead.
Hell was also put in place of some words like gehenna, which was a firerey pit out side of Jerusalum where all the garbadge was burned and diseased animals and dead lepers burned ,so now using the word hell in english made it seem like we humans where going there when in fact God was using gehenna as an illistration of totle distruction.
So you can now begin to see the confusion.
People are now getting a little smater and asking more indepth questions about some of the teachings of the church and where they came from. There is a lot more about this word hell, to much to wright here. If you would like more information I would be glade to send you some.
Sincerely yours,
Fred M. Hunter

There are christians scholars who say that the flames and fire and heat is just figurative language. They don't take those verses about hell literally. They admit that hell will be a place of torment. They just say it will be mental and emotional torment. That may be but I don't know how anyone could say that dogmatically. I tend to take the bible literally unless it is clear that it is speaking figueatively. In Luke 16:23.24 in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, the rich man(in hell) says this to Lazarus, "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame".
That sounds to me like the fire and heat is real.

No. Heat is part thereof, It's not an electric griller, hell consists of agony.

I personally think that everyone has their own little h*ll and heat has nothing to do with it. For me, h*ll is regret-the things I didn't do and should have and the things I did do and shouldn't have. The older you are-the bigger h*ll gets.
