can anyone give me scriptural proof that drinking is not a sin, but drunkenness is? i have a very hard time believing this.

and if you can.... how do you define drunkenness (i'm assuming there's not a BAC level or # of drinks listed) ?

Peace and Blessings,
Sakina

According to Ps. 104:15 "and wine that makes the heart of mortal man rejoice" Eph. 5: 18 reads " also do not be getting drunk with wine, in which there is debauchery, but keep getting filled with spirit. So in other words do all thing in moderation.

In Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18, it says: "And do not be drunk with wine, which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." (Holy Spirit)

In my dictionary, it defines dissipation as "Excessive indulgence, especially in dissolute pleasures.

Dissolute: Not governed by moral constraints; abandoned; debauched.

Hope this helps.

The word of God does not state that drinikng is a sin but it does state that a drunkard is not wise. Being intoxicated is not a sin but to be a drunkard is not a good thing.
