"Moses numbered them according to the word of the Lord" he was told to count "every male from a month old and upward." Women and girls didn't count as persons. 3:15-16
If a man suspects his wife of being unfaithful, he reports it to the priest. The priest then makes her drink some "bitter water." If she is guilty, the water makes her thigh rot and her belly swell. In any case, "the man shall be guiltless from iniquity, 5:11-31

"You need to clarify. Why do you see Moses as cruel? Are you kidding me? Have you read Numbers? If you have you are among the ones who need to wake up.
Why do you say Moses sees me as a non-person? Because it says so in the bible Read numbers 3:15-16
"God favourite His Pal" makes no sense to me You need to wake up In Numbers12:1, 9-10
it says something like this "Miriam and Aaron (Moses' brother and sister) criticize Moses for marrying an Ethiopian woman and thus breaking the law of God. But God makes it clear that his rules don't apply to his favorites, and he strikes Miriam with leprosy. Notice that only Miriam is punished, though both she and Aaron complained.

I couldn't agree more. It boggles the mind how any woman can call herself Christian after the disrespectful and abusive way they are treated in the bible.
From the very beginning, the sin of mankind was placed squarely to blame on Eve's shoulders. She corrupted man and brought down mankind. And it's only gone downhill from there.
Women are the ones that bring life into this world, yet Christians worship a patriarchal deity instead of matriarchal. They pray to the "son" of man, and they allow the church fathers to scare them into submission as second-class citizens. It makes no sense to me.
I've asked some identical questions to yours...

If one needed any more evidence, here are some more biblical gems...
Christian women: be silent:
"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church."
— I Corinthians 14:34-35
Woman must marry rapist:
"If a man [meets] a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her ... He must marry the girl ... He can never divorce her as long as he lives."
— Deuteronomy 22:28-29
Virgin women are war booty:
"Have you allowed all the women to live?" he [Moses] asked them.... "Now ... kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."
— Numbers 31:1-18

If I were you, I'd be a lot more worried about the conditions of women in Saudia Arabia and Iran, as well as a few other Muslim countries. While the western world has largely gotten beyond the bits you take exception to in the bible, women in may arab countries are treated worse than slaves.
There was an episode a few years ago in saudi--a girl's school caught fire, the fire department showed up...and so did the religious police. The religious police locked the doors and wouldn't let the females out --students and teachers alike-- because they had no veils and the firemen outside were all men. They all burned to death.
Actually, that's pretty progressive. Under the Taliban in Afghanistan, women who tried going to school had their heads cut off. Along with any men who encouraged them.
Your petty complaint over an episode 5000 years old kinda fades to insignificance next to that, I would think.

That's rather vague to generalize that a, what would that be, Jehovah's Witness, is the epitome of "religious women". There are many religions, some of which have female deitys and value women above men. There are misinterpretations and bastardizations of almost every religion, often tailored to the views of a specific religious sect. Ignorance, my dear, is universal and sometimes you just have to nod politely to make someone shut up then go around the corner and bang your head on the wall. All you can do is educate yourself and encourage others to do the same, some people are just happier living in their fish bowl.

I see where you're coming from, though it may come across as hostile to some people.
What's also interesting is how the story of Adam and Eve is used to place women in their supposed respective roles, which is solely to be ideal mates. Since women come from the man's rib, our job then is to OBEY the man (husband in this case), according to the bible, for he is the authoritative figure.
"Women are the weaker sex" is one of the common lines I've heard, and again using the referrence of Eve and her succumbing to the wits of a talking snake.
I am not affiliated with any religion, but have researched and oftentimes will discuss with some friends whom are Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etcetera...and this has been a topic of much debate among us, especially with my Christian and Muslim male friends, most of them agree that the woman's "role" is to submit to the husband, while his is to submit to God.
Trying to prove a point using logic and historical evidence will be futile, when people have their minds set up.
So to each his or her own.
At the very least, there are still some women out there, like us, whom still believe in gender equality, within and outside of marriage, and that we are entitled to as much respect and right to choose, as our partners (whether male or female).

What a pity. I wish you had read more before you so unceremoniously dismiss the Bible.
In the New Testament, we are told that husbands should love their wives even as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for her. So, a husband who is a true Christian can honestly tell his wife, "Honey, I love you so much that I am willing to die for you, if the situation demands it". You were saying that she needs to be freed from this type of relationship? And least you think that you can't make love on hungry belly, the Bible commands husbands to also provide for their families. If not, they are worst than infidels.

Freed myself a decade ago, when I was still a young girl. Even then, I was smart enough to realize how hateful, sexist, and tyranical religion is towards women.
Just waiting for everyone else to join me here on the right side of freedom.

you're asking this from an incredibly skewed attitude. you apart from could ought to show which community of Muslims who placed on the veil are you asking approximately. i think of the respond may be different counting on which area you're relating. each and each usa seems to have it incredibly is very own subject with niqab. I help people who placed on niqab for religious motives, i do no longer help enforced niqab, i'm muslim, and that i placed on the hijab, and on occasion the niqab. donning it contained in the west, i'm no longer worried approximately those women human beings being "oppressed" or compelled, those are women people who I incredibly have met, who've made their very own judgements. whether a woman have been to placed on the niqab at her husband's request, it incredibly is advantageous. you incredibly ought to appreciate the religion, to have the skill to work out this in a stable easy, i understand. I used to freak out over gender "stereotypes" and "submissive" and "degraded" women human beings of religion, as a non believer/atheist. i chanced on myself respecting them after a sociology classification that made me open my concepts somewhat greater--it exchange right into a sociology of religion classification. you ought to offer women people who choose for his or her faith and want to coach wholeheartedly the income of the doubt. whether the niqab attracts interest to the they're nevertheless pleasant a duty. i do no longer think of the element of the niqab is to invisible, yet to be ideal coated. it is likewise a skill of coming up sacred area interior of your self. A barrier or reminder to concentration on God and evade issues which may be distracting. And by a barrier, i do no longer mean it incredibly is an "anti-social" , F-off barrier as some have defined it. it incredibly is in simple terms modesty, think of of it as a transportable religious retreat. i come across it very ideal and admirable.

Good grief!
You need to clarify. Are you sure you're ok? Your mind appears to be wandering somewhat.
Why do you see Moses as cruel? Why do you say Moses sees me as a non-person?
"God favourite His Pal" makes no sense to me.
