According to the christian religion, god is omnipotent. Meaning he is capable of ANYTHING. Bearing this in mind, how is it that this all powerful being is only capable of coming up with a plan of salvation that involves the murder of his own son AND the condemnation of billions of his own creations (Children in essence)?
Was he not capable of coming up with a more merciful win win plan?
Or is it that he merely CHOOSES to destroy?
Is it,
A: A sadistic tendancy?
B: A lack of capability?
C: Something tht I havent thought of? (If so, plz enlighten me.)

Hmmm, my logic is completely fallible as I am human and ENTITLED to the mistakes I make as well as being entitled to correct them. However, I must point out that neither of you can actually rebut the point. So, am I in err? Or are you just shallow?

Nothing... any of you have said even addresses the point...in the slightest bit.
I am merely asking, If you could do ANYTHING, why choose this particular plan?

The thing most interesting is that most of you keep repeating his "Plan" You never even think of the fact that if he can do ANYTHING, he could of come up with a more inclusive solution.
I appreciate all of your input... those of you who actually gave me some and didnt just stoop to insults.

LOL- Edna tries to put you down by calling you a Moron and manages to misspell the word. That is classic (wipes tears away). Keep in mind, this is the same Edna that when asked "who gets royalties from sales of the Bible?" answered God.

C: I think there are cycles throughout the Bible that show God with different, um..personality, to put it in a way. God is put in parts as a creator, in others as a tyran, in others as a Father, in others as a judge. I think this is more because the people who wrote the Bible were people..not God. People don´t always understand and often make mistakes. People often tell the story from their own point of view. There can´t really ever be a merciful win win plan because us humans aren´t that wise. There isn´t mercy without pain, there isn´t good if there is no evil, and all this is subjective in its own way.
I like what you said about children in essence, we are all toddlers going on in tantrums, in a way not understanding the ways of God to teach us to be better, and thinking of God as "mean" at times. We all have different views on God according to the way we live.

Obviously something you haven't thought of.
Jesus is a part of the whole of God he is also the one who created you.
God is totally righteous he does not pretend you did not sin nor pretend sin is okay if your sorry.
anything less than perfect equals sin and death.
All of God's creation inherited a death sentence.
Heres the options God isn't righteous and he says nevermind...
rule that one out either God is righteous or he is not and he is.
then the judgment means the penalty of death must be paid and you are without hope because a righteous God can not be joined to an unrighteous man.
God had a plan to being you to his righteousness not join you in your sin.
That plan was to be a savior to his people.
Jesus is God in the flesh who paid the penalty of death for those who accept the atonement.
Not sure why you consider this insulting or not the answer...God can do anything but God is and remains righteous.
Jam once more God is righteous man is not he could not be a righteous God and overlook sin. the penalty of sin is death.....God's righteousness deamnds that penalty be paid.
God loves us son much that he paid that penalty a righteous and perfect God became flesh to pay the penalty of death for sinful man. It was God's plan the other option requires your life.

~Parable of the Landlord's son. You need to read that story pronto.
Here's someone's take on it. You might like it. He (or she) brings up some salient points regarding the parable.
http://rmadisonj.blogspot.com/2007/03/fifth-sunday-of-lent-2007.html
here is an outtake:
"You will note, too, that this is not a "kingdom" parable. It doesn't begin with those cryptic words "The Kingdom of God is like...." This is a parable about the here and now. And note that, if it is an allegory, it is a curious one. If God is the vineyard owner, then surely this parable preaches heresy. The landowner plants the vineyard, prepares it properly in every way, then goes away."
edit:
One has to know the entire story in order for the plot to become clear. We are told at the beginning that God was somehow betrayed by us, as He was betrayed by another mightier being, and that we nearly got away with becoming immortal as well.
In order for us to understand the dire need for the blood of His Son, we have to know two things: 1) the true nature of God and 2) the entire story.
1) The nature of God is by no means an easy thing to understand, for by nature, God has no peer. So from the beginning, there is next to no hope of us ever truly understanding Him.
2). We are mortal, and on top of that, we are not omniscient. Even the kernel of the story is shed with the light of doubt, just by the grace of the march of time, and destructive forces of decay.
I conclude that you will not find a satisfactory answer to your question.

I believe it's "C". Alas, I cannot enlighten you, because I myself sometimes pray for an answer, or an inspired thought. I can't understand why God, in his perfection, allowed, and continues to allow, evil in this world. The pure evil, which is harm done to innocents . I believe in God, and I do believe that he has a profound plan, and meaning, but I can't grasp it with my human mind.
Sometimes I think it has to do with the significance of our species, that we really are special, and we have a very difficult issue to deal with here (evil). We are not simpletons, who live in a perfect simple world, but rather an incredibly complex group of souls who have incredible potential. And, I am not convinced that our reality is the only reality in the universe, so when you say that God is ONLY capable of coming up with this plan, I say that you cannot assume anything about what He is capable of.

Giving up His own Son to die for mankind. And you are asking for something MORE merciful than that?? The condemnation is not God's will. It is the CHOICE of those that rejected God's provision for them thru His Son's sacrifice. You are twisting scripture. God is all knowing, all loving and all capable. His thoughts and ways are not our thoughts and ways. He is FAR above us in every way. Just because He doesn't measure up to your ways and thoughts, doesn't invalidate His love and mercy for us. Read His Word and really get to know Him, then maybe you will understand Him. God bless

Sin is very serious to God and because He has a just nature, sin has to be dealt with. All of us are sinners and all of us deserve to be eternally separated from God forever.
But God is also merciful and He made a way that those who believe Him, can be reconciled to Him and have a relationship with Him now that lasts forever.
Jesus, God the Son, humbled Himself and became man so that He could die in our place. He was fully God and fully man.----the only sinless one. He suffered so much because it was for the sins of the world. He died, because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. This is God's way and He is the One who made the great sacrifice.
We should be extremely grateful for that. Those who admit their sinfulness to God and want His forgiveness and cleansing, can trust what Jesus did and repent (turn from their way to God's way). He will give that person the gift of eternal life----knowing God now and living with Him forever.
The sacrifice was so great because the sins were so many.
It wasn't easy to suffer for them.
Jesus died, was buried and arose from the dead.
His resurrection is proof that He is God.
His death wasn't the end----He is alive with a glorified body, and exalted!
Our death will not be the end----we will either live with God forever or be separated from Him forever.
For understanding:" For since death came through a man,(speaking of Adam), the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. (speaking of Jesus)" ....... this is in 1Corinthians 15:21
One reason Jesus died is so that He could be the first to be resurrected, body and spirit, from the dead(and lives forever)----to give us hope.
If you really think about it, God's plan of redemption is a perfect plan.
God promises that if one truly seeks for Him, they will find Him. And He is faithful to His promises.

God can do anything if people will work with him already. Humans have free will. It requires faith for God to work in you. If everybody would turn away from Satan and totally follow God, it'd be all hunky dory, but we don't, so the saving of our hides gets a bit more complicated.

Jam,
Rom 6:23 says "the wages of sin is death" ok? Now I sinned and sinned and sinned, right? Now somebody comes along and says "you have to pay for all the sins you committed with your blood. But my blood in sinFUL. I am sinful, same thing. Jesus, 100% Man & 100% God was sinless and lived a perfect life. His sacrifice, His blood has eternal, infinite value. So when He died for my sins.....He paid for it all. Only HE could.
So when I repented of my sins there was this one time transaction done- as is stated in 2 Cor 5:21 "He made Him who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of Christ in Him."
Now the grateful part: This is not an automatic application to all people. Those who reject and deny Him, will be denied and sent to a place to pay for their sins -eternally. When I repented 12 years ago, God did the exchange to me. My sin went on that cross which Jesus bore the punishment for and I received Christ's robe of righteousness.
Why me? In Ephesians 1 it says " 4 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love, 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will."
He chose me, drew me, saved me and keeps me.
Trust me when this happens you know it and your whole being changes towards godliness and becoming more like Him.
It is supernatural!
