all the answers are great and I do agree that you should call your vet for an appointment. I just want to point out that the de-wormer you got from the store probably doesn't take care of all types of worms. Only your vet can determine what kind of worms you cat has and the appropriate treatment. When I got my cat, she had worms, but she needed 3 different medications, one which was a shot. I wish you the very best and GOD BLESS YOU for adopting a homeless kitty.

Did you treat for the right type of worm? Any worming meds are very hard on a cat, so I don't doubt diahrhea is happening. A stool sample should have been checked first, to make sure you're treating the right parasite.
And make sure the right dose was given, kittens need less of a dose than an older cat, and weight is sometimes a factor for the dose size.
Call a vet and ask the technician about the poop. They're trained to answer stuff like this.

I think that you should call a veterinarian and get his/her opinion. I have never found an over the counter worming medicine that works as well as one from the vet. The Dr. will want a stool sample to see exactly what kind of worms the little kitty has. It could have several different kinds at the same time and need several different treatments. Also your new friend should be vaccinated. After kitty is treated and well again, consider making her an inside cat so that she doesn't get reinfected and she stays safe. Good luck to you and bless you for taking her in.

Cats always have terrible reactions to dewormers, but it usually means it's working. The fact that it's having gas means the dewormer is working it's way through the intestine which is where worms can infest inside the cat. Also, if the brown leaking does not stop in a few days, get a different dewormer from the veterinarian because the brown leakyness means worms are still eating her food. She is not getting nutrients, the worms are, and everything that is exiting her is waste from what is left after the worms ate.

I would call a vet and ask their advise, personally I dont use over the counter wormers or flea treatments on any of my 3 cats.
Did you weigh the kitten before worming him?It may be that he has had too much for his body weight. Try and make sure that he is drinking pleanty, little kittens can get dehydrated very easily

I agree 100% with Bobbysue on this one. Please DO call your vet so that they can do this properly. The only thing that she left out that I'm going to put in here is--after the de-worming and vacinations are done by your vet. Have him/her spayed or neutered, and DO make this an INDOOR ONLY kitty. Bless you for taking in this nice little friend.

i became interior an analogous challenge. My kitten is now 7 weeks previous, and nevertheless getting used to stuff, alongside with my 2 year previous cat. you are able to desire to grant the kitten as lots interest as you are able to, merely such as you will possibly on your man or woman toddler. merely make optimistic there is often nutrition in her nutrition bowl, and continually has water. she will have the means to pass interior the muddle container if its comfortable adequate for her to bounce into. attempt to place her on your mattress to sleep besides. Happier cats accomodate you so lots extra advantageous than unhapy ones.
