it depends, If you were into alternative medicine like I am, I would seriously consider giving him cannabis sativa, It is known for its calming effect, its natural and it will slow down his body and mind functions.

Unfortunately Cannabis Sativa is an illegal substance despite its medicinal uses...but maybee you can get special permission from the courts regarding this matter. Its also a cheaper substitute for "legal drugs" I just dont know why they ban this substance in a controlled situation.

This is very common in boys they grow very fast at that age make sure he is getting enough calcium!! When the body lacks calcium it robs it from your bone your brain needs calcium for correct nuerotransmission this inbalance can cause your sons brain to be out of whack causing adhd.
Boys are hyper anyway those meds are amphetamines they have an opposite effect in children try giving him caffeine like a cup of coffee not any pills instead of adhd meds.

Caffeine isn't as Strong and will have positive results in his adhd but the real answer is calcium and maybe some magnesium he needs more because his body is growing
protein leaches calcium good for the muscles bad for the bones try giving him calcium citrate without vitamin d 2000 mg a day 1000 before bed time let him drink milk to so he can get vitamin d to help absorption of calcium.

My step son has this and so does my son it is a side affect from the medicine he is taking nothing major just dry mouth. They will tend to lick the lips and make them raw because of this.Best thing is use petroleum jelly for the cracked dry mouth and be sure to tell your doctor that he is getting dry mouth alot.He may tell you the same thing i did and he might even change is prescription strength or the brand he is using for his ADHD.Good luck I hope this helps.

Dry mouth is tough! At home he could chew gum, drink lots of water (which is good for all of us,) and have some sugar-free breath mints. Do ask your physician about an adjustment in your son's medicines.

As for his dry, cracked lips, do not use petroleum jelly, petroleum has no business inside your body. Try some lip balm for extra-dry lips. Burt's Bee's is a good brand, and so it Avon's Care Deeply, and their Skin So Soft lip balm. I've tried most brands and those are my favorites.
