This verse was given to my sister on the death of our Mother (SusanJ), who died yesterday morning, Samantha wants to read it at the funeral

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;
Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free

We wanted to share it with you, what do you think?

It's very beautiful and touching. I'm sure your mother would be proud.
I never had the pleasure of knowing her but I'm sure she was a wonderful person for so many have commented on her.
I'm so sorry for the loss this must be to your family but also acceptance with knowing that she is with God. Bless you and your family at this time.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss.

The verse is beautiful. If your sister reads it aloud at the funeral, I'd recommend having it printed somewhere ?in the program? so others can follow along and have a copy of it for themselves. It will remind each of them of how your mother left a life of memories for them to treasure.

My condolences,

~Dawn

Very nice. I wrote a poem when my mother passed that was similar to this and someone read it at my mom's funeral. It was very meaningful. You are very fortunate, as was I, to know that your mom went to heaven and you can join her forever someday. I still miss my mom after 20 yrs, but as time went on the happier I was for her. My grieving for my own loss turned to my happiness for her eternity as time went on. My thoughts of my mom and dad (who passed away also), are not sad at all, even for me, but only happiness knowing they have eternal joy and I will join them someday. God be with you and your family. In Christ
