If you ask...heart, you also need to repent of your sins and obey and be willing to follow Jesus. Only God/Jesus knows your heart. Some people do lip service only and are not truly saved. If you are sincere, The Lord knows this and will send His Holy Spirit to live in your heart, give you understanding of His Word, peace and joy. You will be made a new creature in Christ and will KNOW without a doubt that you are saved. And YES it matters what church you go to. You need to go to a church where The Word of God is preached. Where Jesus is The Son of God, died and resurrected and saved us. With that go to one also that teaches The whole Word of God, both the hope and the warnings. Discern the teaching with God's Word. God bless you

If you truly accept Jesus for who He said He is, then He is in you, and you are saved by grace through your faith.
Of course it matters what church you attend. You are a new christian, and that means you have become satan's most sought target. You need to pray to God to lead you to the church where you will only hear good, sound doctrine, so your faith can grow stronger, and you will not be led astray. In the animal kingdom, newborns are the most sought targets of predators. It's a good analogy for what I mean.

I say no. The only sticking point might be baptism. Certain faiths believe that your baptism must (1) be completed for you to enter into God's presence, and (2) be done under the proper authority--which would imply a specific church.

You are saved if you believe in Him and invite Him in your heart. Does not matter which church you go and when and how often you go there.... believe in Him and you are saved.

If you want to be saved (from your sins), you will have to......
.......admit to God that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself by being good or doing good things.
Our sin separates us from God.
....... believe that Jesus, God the Son, became a man to suffer and die for your sins, was buried and arose from the dead. He did this because God is just and sin had to be paid for. God is also merciful and has made a way that we can be reconciled to Him.
.........repent (turn from your way to God's way) and receive God's forgiveness and cleansing.
......... you will then be born again and the Holy Spirit will live in you and help you to live for God. You will receive the gift of eternal life----knowing God and living with Him forever.
Attend a Bible believing church that teaches that salvation comes from God alone and the authority of the Bible.

Unfortunately, the church today teaches the "magic prayer" and that's it. Yes, "Jesus come into my life I give it all to o blah blah blah" IS IMPORTANT. Don't get me wrong. But it's about more than that. Christianity is about following and serving God.
Matthew 7:21 KJV Chapter
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

No... you have to believe that a cosmic Jewish zombie, who is his own father, can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced, by a talking snake with legs, to eat from a magical tree... (etc.)... and that there is something horribly wrong with people who ARE NOT stupid and gullible enough to believe such outrageously ridiculous codswallop.
THEN you are 'saved'.

Yes you are saved, but it is possible to fall away if you don't lock into a good church. You may not, but you will be opposed by the devil. Find a good church with good believers that believe the bible. Don't go to a lukewarm church as you will never grow in Christ.

Perhaps it's not so important for you to get something from a church, maybe you should find a church that you could give something to...
