The FSM is the atheist equivalent of the common interpretation of Pascal's Wager. It sets up a false scenario.
The FSM assumes that we have a menu of gods in front of us from which to choose and our choice is arbitrary.
But Christianity begins with our human need for true meaning and purpose in our lives. Only a Creator/God can give us true meaning and purpose and so we seek the God who created us. And if He created us, we can deduce the character of God by looking at our own character and seeing there the best of our own natures. If we know that love and compassion and truth and justice are good and we accept that we were created, then it makes sense that our Creator put that knowledge into our heads. No where in this chain of logic is there reason to invent FSMs.

I would be fascinated if there were a god, regardless of the source.
But seeing the source as spaghetti, one of my favorite dishes, would not bode well for an afterlife. What do I get to be, the marinara sauce?

I love my Noodly Creator! I have an image of Her/Him with 10-foot long noodles that sits on my bookshelf! (I made it for sculpture class, and it was on display in my senior show - suspended from the ceiling. Many were touched by the noodly appendages.)
