Besides the drugs, which by the way don't affect aussies any different than any other dog..your dog is in shock. Put a blanket it in the dryer and put it on high for about 10-15 minutes. Try and get him comfy beside you on the couch and cover him with the blanket. Keep him very warm until the shock passes. Once he is not drooling offer him a little warm milk, it won't hurt him. Then see if he will eat something but try yogurt or oatmeal, or some rice. Above all else keep him warm. You should take him to the vet as animals bites will get infected but if you can't then you in for a lot of work. First you have to find all the bites and clean each wound. Use warm water. Dry the area well and then put a antiviral/antibacterial salve on it. There is also a product called Blukote, it may not have the same name where you are but it is a spray that is blue or purple and you spray it on each and every wound. For now you have to keep the wounds clean and disinfected. Another thing we use is called Dettol. You mix like a drop in warm water and clean the wounds with it. I know this because we have had dogs fight and also we have sheep who have suffered coyote attacks and we were able to fix a lamb that had his side ripped open. It is important to tend to the wounds every day cleaning and putting on a spray or even something like alcohol but that hurts like hell. Best of luck to you..when you can though call a vet and get some advice or take him in and they can give him some antibiotics as he will need these to help with any infection that may be starting.

Speaking from experience, it sounds like allergy. Also speaking from experience, there is no money in a cure. Talk to your vet about testing her for allergies. If he/she is reluctant, find another vet.

My girl had allergies and did the same thing as well as lick her bottom and her ears were always infected. (She licked her bottom because of food allergies.) The vet told me testing wasn't necessary and what to do about it. I was at the vets office constantly and he bought a new sportscar.

I switched vets, did an allergy test and found out everything the other vet was telling me to do was making it worse! The test involved only a blood draw, skin patch testing wasn't necessary. I now avoid what she is allergic to, which is not difficult, and give her generic benadryl. The blood test cost around $250 and the meds about $3.50/month. The old vet and constant visits were close to $1000 and my baby was miserable.

That's why I say there is no money in a cure.

P.S. Prednisone is not the answer!

Allergies. Go to this website: NZYMES.com and read it throughly. My cocker is biting stratching, chewing, has a bad odor and in pain. Hasnt lost much hair but some. I order the kit from this site. Dont have any feedback yet because I haven't recieved it yet but the site was very helpful and informational.

If your dog is hurting herself...take her to the vet. Don't hesitate. It could be something simple, but if she gets an infected open wound...it becomes very serious.

Go to the drugstore and buy a can of "Bag Balm". Its a salve (ointment) and works wonders for skin conditions.

it's probably fleas or allergies. my dog pulled all of her hair out in a circle on her butt. she had a lil bald booty. after the summer was over the hair grew back.
