Isn't it hilarious how non Christian's just twist and turn the meaning of the bible into their favour
The are obviously no contradictions in the bible but these non Christians still stubbornly decide to believe in the fairytale no matter what . And how do they justify their incorrect quoting of the bible?? They either quote more uninformed quotes from the bible or they'll say it's a metaphorical and go all the way changing the meaning of the whole text. As not everything in the bible is not metaphorical , then there is high validity to it.
Because everyone can just twist it's meaning back and forth to fit their own desire.
The real fascination of "Brainwashing" is the recipients don't realise they've been brainwashed by not studying the scriptures
people are so gullible to listen to both Christians and non Christians who quote scriptures and don't do follow up study of the bible.

IF that is what "Christians" are doing it is not hilarious at all. However what I think is going on here is this= the passages that you say contradict each other, are really passages that you just disagree with period. I am interested in hearing from you about what passages you think are contradictory. I agree that we as Christians can interpret scripture wrong sometime, however, what I am saying is this- sometimes people who do not want to believe the essence of scripture, which is men are sinners, in need of saving- God loved the world so much that He gave His Son to die on a cross so that we can live forever with Him. If I chose not to believe something, I will try very hard to make it not true- When I became a Christian, I had to lay aside my pride and admit that I needed Jesus to save me, and that can be very hard to do-I totally understand that. We are saved by grace and faith in Christ. I am not being brainwashed by God at all- Those that do not believe are being brainwashed by the great deceiver Satan. I have another question for you? Why are people so defensive when we say Bible is truth? If you chose to not believe that is your choice, however I chose to believe.

Have you read... the works of Gary habermas, Lee Strobel, Norman Geisler , or Paul Maier. That is what I find humorous. You do no research, You check no facts, and then you make definitive statements. Go look up and read some of their work ( several are professors at major universities) and then discuss what you know about Christianity.
Well have you read anyone of them yet or just the stuff you can get off the internet with all the trustworthiness of the internet? I am going to guess no since that would have meant you were serious about being interested in the subject and not brainwashed yourself. Learn your subject more before critiquing it.

sorry to tell you this but revelation already happened when jesus was born, killed then ressurected(his second coming)he rid the world of evil then(mayans,ect...) Evil exists today too, but it's creation is our fault. It's a common mistake everyone is led to believe by the false church so to speak. the bible has been misinterpreted by all 30,000 versions of the faith. They can't all be right. Do some research on the real archeological record and correlate it to the bible and the lost texts. I'll provide you the links below in that order to get you started. GOD bless you and take good care with what people say, even me. Check it yourself. Were all capable of twisting things to suit our needs, but the real problem is admitting it. GOD BLESS and Take care

Thank you for the mention of the website. It was indeed very funny.
As far as I could tell here is the first alleged contradiction mentioned:
Was Jeconiah the son or grandson of Josiah?
He was Josiah's son.He was Josiah's grandson.
Matthew 1:11
And Josias begat Jechonias.
1 Chronicles 3:15-16
And the sons of Josiah were, the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum. And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son.
Here is the answer:
In determining relationships, often the context or a comparison of parallel lists or of texts from different parts of the Bible is necessary. For example, "son" may actually mean a grandson or merely a descendant.
(Matthew 1:1) 1 The book of the history of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham:
So when Matthew said "son" he obviously meant "descendant".
Again, a list of names may appear to be a register of brothers, the sons of one man. On closer observation and by comparison with other texts, however, it may prove to be the register of a genealogical line, naming some sons and also some grandsons or later descendants. Genesis 46:21 evidently lists both sons and grandsons of Benjamin as "sons," as can be seen by a comparison with Numbers 26:38-40.The above situation is found even in the genealogies of some major families. For example, 1 Chronicles 6:22-24 lists ten "sons of Kohath." But in the 18th verse, and at Exodus 6:18, we find only four sons attributed to Kohath. And examination of the context shows that the listing of "sons of Kohath" at 1 Chronicles 6:22-24 is in reality part of a genealogy of families of the line of Kohath who had representative members present for appointment by David to certain temple duties.
Conversely, "father" may mean "grandfather" or even royal predecessor.
(Daniel 5:11) There exists a capable man in your kingdom in whom there is the spirit of holy gods; and in the days of your father illumination and insight and wisdom like the wisdom of gods were found in him, and King Neb·u·chad·nez´zar your father himself set him up as chief of the magic-practicing priests, the conjurers, the Chal·de´ans [and] the astrologers, [even] your father, O king;
(Daniel 5:18) As for you, O king, the Most High God himself gave to Neb·u·chad·nez´zar your father the kingdom and the greatness and the dignity and the majesty.
In many places, such as at Deuteronomy 26:5; 1 Kings 15:11, 24; and 2 Kings 15:38, the Hebrew word ’av (father) is also used in the sense of "ancestor," or "forefather." Similarly, the Hebrew words ’em (mother) and bath (daughter) are used occasionally for "grandmother" and "granddaughter" respectively.—1Ki 15:10, 13.
The thing that I find "funny" is how an Atheist can point to anyone else and complain about their lack of unity, or their inability to address and answer questions in a rational and logical manner. Since Atheists have no unity, contradict each other, and ridicule those who disagree with their view and seem unwilling to rational discuss that view, then it is a little like the pot calling the kettle "black". As far as ascertaining what the Bible really says and the question of whether or not there is a provable "truth" I have a thread which proves that there is such a truth.

i am a christian myself and believe only what the bible says. i dont recall ever having "twisted the meaning of the bible into my favor". and, just for that, there is no ONE meaning of the bible. the bible is god's word and what he says is right and wrong. its a guide on how to live a better life. if you'd actually read it with an open mind you would know.
life isnt always any easier if you become a christian that's for sure. and how can you call us hypocrites? if someone is truly a christian, they believe that NO-ONE is perfect.
the world was born with sin which came from adam and eve. which means everyone does it.
just because we believe that lying and stealing and adultery is wrong doesnt mean we never do it. it means we know we shouldn't but sometimes we choose to go against it.
and yes i know that it is entirely our fault if we do. but it means we dont have to live with guilt because we have a saviour. jesus came to die so we could ask him for forgiveness and be saved from eternal darkness and torture.
if you believe in evolution, then you pretty much believe you are nothing. nothing but a bit of slime on a rock which you originated from. how can you believe in instinct? how can you believe in a conscience? ... if there was nothing to put it there?

Hi cassnate. I could say that your the one who's brainwashed, but it could be that you are unsaved. I don't know that, only God does. You say that there are "a whole bunch of contradictions in the bible" There are no contradictions in the Bible. It's that you don't understand the Bible. God tells us that He does not want everyone to understand His Holy Word, the Bible, in Mark 4:12
"That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them."
If God hasn't given you eternal life yet, He may or may not do so sometime in your life. My advice is to cry out to Him. Pray to him to show the truth. Our God is a merciful God and He takes no delight in sending a sinner to Hell.

In order to be brainwashed you should be repeating something ad infinitum. Right now only Muslims (5 time Mohammad-allah chant) and some other cults like scientology(continous marathon psychiatric sessions), etc do that.
Christians believe that Jesus Christ is sinless and there is no evidence so far to the contrary so they hold Him up as the highest standard. This is not brainwashing.

How can you generalize about Christians, when the skeptics
who answered you, have twisted what they think the bible is saying, on the accounts of others.
Or worse they are using hearsay to make up their minds.
Mr speaker, It is my judgement that in order to make up your own mind and not to twist the truth, these people must read the bible for themselves and then make their own conclusions. Stop relying on what others say, and giving out web sites written by people who also have no first hand knowledge.
