Yes
Religion does a great job of self-promotion. Without the churches being everywhere, people would naturally be less religious. As it is, most people just go to church because it is an easy social function to attend.

You would then suppose that a belief is based on a building. What building is the atheist belief housed in?
I think if there were no churchs there would be less potlucks. Who keeps bringing the casserole with the sticky noodles and the stuff that looks like hamburger and...is that corn?
God is in all the buildings.

I don't believe so because God is everywhere. As long as there are preachers if in the absence of a church still many will believe in God. Church is only an instrument used by mankind as a house for praying. Believers in God will always be present regardless of it's wanting and no presence of church.

No, not realistically. Most people in Ireland stayed Catholic during the Penal Times when Cromwell destroyed the Catholic churches.

I think so. A lot of people go to church for the social interaction, not on account of some religious belief; but, they will taylor their beliefs to fit into the group they associate with.
