I'm not talking about cavities. I'm talking about the muscles in your jaw. Is it bad if you chew too much? When is it considered too much?

Yes. If you chew to much you could overwork the muscles in your jaw. It won't hurt right away but eventually you'll find it hurts to talk or chew because your muscle has gotten enough rest. As for too much, i'm not totally sure. Maybe if you chew for like the whole time your awake or something close to that.

NO!!!
I encourage more people to chew it because some people's breathe just be kickin!!!
Gum is bad because of the sugar....otherwise, they are not that bad; sugarless gum is better for you. The more you chew the gum the more saliva is built, which you swallow, in turn the saliva contain acid which help your stomach digest and break down food in your stomach. It might be bad...like for me, when I chew too long and hard, my jaw starts to hurt....AND never smoke and chew...all the nicotine get suck in you gum and you're just chewin on it...

Ehh, I always chew gum and my fillings have always been okay. The reason I had to get new ones were cause I was chewing this really hard food or something.

My mom use to tell me that if I swallowed it, it would plug up my bumhole so I wouldn't be able to poop.
But I really think the only real danger from it is the damage it can do to teeth if you chew the sugar type.
