Yeah, sounds great. I really don't think black has any real meaning anymore. Black is a classic and sophisticated color. In years to come, when you look at your wedding photos, you won't be looking the bridesmaid's dress color du jour (like orange, yellow or pink)
Black will never go out of the style.

For my wedding the bridemaids' dresses are black with a tiffany blue ribbon bow. I have also been in a wedding where we wore black dresses with a white bow accent. I think black is soooo chic and sophisticated. When I was the bridesmaid (in the black dress), I wore my hair in a french twist. SO classic and pretty, I love the bow idea - I found some cute black pumps with a bow at Target for my bridemaids - It is called the "Heidi" by Mossimo and they are currently on clearance for $14. Good luck!

Absolutely. I was a bridesmaid for my sister and she had all four of her bridesmaids in black. My sister-in-law did the same thing at her wedding too. The whole family (except her of course) was dressed in black. It's a great way to contrast a wedding gown.

Yes, I have been in 3 weddings where black was the bridesmaids dress color. I think it looks extremely elegant and with black they can usually where it again....which is nice!

yes, thats absolutely fine. I'm having a small wedding in October and I just have a maid of honor and she will be wearing a black dress (strapless, satin and a-line). My thinking is, why not let her wear a dress that is timeless and she could always wear later.
When I told my maid of honor that she was going to wear a black dress, she was pleased and said, "I'm surprised I already don't have a black dress to wear!"

Absolutely!!! My bridesmaids wore strapless black gowns with white detailing. They looked so gorgeous as the dress complemented each of them. They were also able to wear them for other events.

My opinion is black is a morbid color and so unappropriate for a wedding for the bridal party no matter where it is being held or how formal or informal it is. Have her go and buy a nice dressy dress in any color of the rainbow that you and she agree on, but black? Hate it.

Yes.Very nice. I have had many wedding parties in my bridal business that used black as the dominate color. Accent in white is crisp, red is bold, blue is cool. I would advise you to use an accent color to match the flowers. If the flowers are all white, then maybe compliment the carpet color. Do you want the overall effect to be dramatic, serene, joyful, classic? Ask your florist or clergy. In Vegas, they generally coordinate everything for you and welcome the chance to help you! Best wishes!!

I think that is classy and kind to her considering it is generally easy to find an occasion to rewear a little black dress...
I got married last November and didn't have an official wedding party -- but asked my closest friends and sister-in-laws to wear little black dresses. The pictures looked stunning
