In Washington, Global Horizon was fined 1.9 million dollars for firing 600 employees and then arranging Thai workers to come into the US under H2A program. TO get the Thais to come here, The company stated there is not enough local laborers, and it's why they needed to hire from outside the country.

My opinion is that this shows that Agbusiness does not need illegal immigrants to work in their farms and that if legal immigrants are causing Americans to lose their jobs, the illegals must also. Immigrants are allowed to enter to leverage a lower standard of living for those who are here. It demonstrates that an open border won't work. That immigrants who come in to work would be treated badly, and if they refuse to tolerate the abusive environment, the employer would just dump them and hie a new wave of immigrant

I believe "The not enough Americans to do the job" mantra is being over stated by the Socialist Liberal Bias` Media so as to give credibility to Ted Kennedy and his wet dream of an Illegal Amnesty Bill , and all other Socialist Agendas` !!

Notice the part where they were taking out state income tax in a state where there isn't an income tax. They want a labor force they can abuse not because they aren't making a profit but because they want that little bit more. Pure greed.

As the illegals here learn English and their rights, they also become undesirable and are sacked for a more vulnerable and naive workforce. This is a very dangerous trend, not just for Americans but for all of humanity.

- about the farm workers from the women's prison, the farm pays $9.60 an hour, the women only get $4 an hour, the rest goes to the state to pay for the guards, transportation & meals. But the women gladly do it as other prison jobs only pay 60 cents an hour.

My family owns two large farms and over the course of a year hire a lot of people, and have never had trouble hiring Americans. Pay a decent wage and you will solve employment problems. S. Amdt 1231 "To ensure that employers make efforts to recruit American workers" added to the immigration bill passed. However 22 Senators voted against the amendment, and 6 abstained, including McCain, Obama and Brownback. I guess they didn't want voters to know if they will support jobs for Americans or not.
The use of illegal aliens has depressed wages.
I think their needs to be an unbiased, independent study done to show the NEED for immigrant workers, after extensive efforts to recruit American workers at a decent wage. Then and only then should there be a decision of how many to allow legally into this country. Then for temporary guest workers, the employers should be held responsible for assuring their departure from the USA, and heavily penalized if they fail to do so. If employers choose to use temporary guest workers, they should be required to pay them the same as any American would expect and provide the same benefits during employment. That would remove a lot of the incentives to hire temporary guest workers or illegal aliens.
I would support tax incentives to companies that hire Americans.

I don't understand why any farmer would have to go out of their way to get field workers. I saw earlier in the news that there is a place that uses Americans to do the job. These Americans are from a women's prison. Yes a women's prison. But you know they don't mind. 1. They get to get out, and do something for someone else. 2. They also get to earn a little over $9.00 an hour. That's still higher than minimum wage any where in the country.

Now to read your opinion

And yours is true as well.

My unadulturated thoughts are that we have a lot of fraud to weed out before we do anything to increase temporary worker visas. It seems that cracking down on fraud will increase the amount available for legitimate companies, easily.

I know H2 is more the farm worker sort, and unlimited already, but I have seen similar stuff on the H1b program, lately. OK, now I will read the rest of what you wrote.

Well, I agree with that, too.
