Do you guys think that if I’m in a state of general fear I’m more likely to accept your beliefs?

That's just the way they operate. Basic tenet: Believe in our god or he'll have you tortured for all eternity. And he loves you, really.

Well there's no way they could reason with you, or present a sound argument. So what other choice do they have? After fear comes begging I think. They want us to change because if we don't believe then maybe they are wrong. Just by not believing we challenge there beliefs.

I'm a Christian, but I'm really mad when someone keep nagging and asking people who already have their own believe/an atheist to follow them so that they could be 'saved'. Don't worry. Be what you want to be, believe your beliefs. Worlds are beautiful when there are variables and differences in many aspects- including religion.

Don't go in your closet or The Boogeyman will eat you!

There. I am an atheist and I warned you about a threat that doesn't exist :) Now you can feel loved :)

I don't know why you are saying this about Christians in particular. I think it is clear that the government does what it can to keep the populace in a state of fear. It gives them an excuse to remove our liberties and give themselves more power.

Let's put it this way... if you had the answers to a test that if you failed, you died, and you were one of the only ones who had these answers, wouldn't you spend your time telling those that you cared about the anwers so that they wouldn't die? I'm sure you would... there are surely people that you would like to see live... well, most of the Christians I know (Jehovah's Witnesses) are simply trying to tell you the answers to the test so you won't fail and die... God asked us to care enough about you (and others) to try, and so I do. Now, whether you (or others) listen and learn the anwers and live is up to you and them... as for me, I'm all for living! :)

I don't know, maybe they know something that you don't and they are concerned for your safety.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world so that He might condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than the light, because their works were evil.

They think that they are saving your life without realising that it was never in danger in the first place

Why ? Are you going to try to convince us that HELL doesn't exist? Hmmm?.....when Jesus said it DOES.

"So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth". - Jesus (Matt. 13:49)

God told a prophet to warn mankind not to reject Him. By warning his hands are clean but if he doesn't the responsibility is partially his. We tell our children not to run into the street because we know it's dangerous, because we love them and want them safe. They are telling you what you need, not want you want to hear. Please don't take offense, they want to give you what they have.
