This is quite true generally speaking. Time after time religionist have tried to "convert" me to their way of thinking. Many have been quite adamant. I live in the Southeastern part of the United States. We call these people the Southeastern United States Hillbilly Taliban because they are so intolerant. If you let it be known here that you're an Atheist you can lose your job, people will shun and despise you, and these people will openly confront you. Don't you dare tell me it doesn't exist for I have to put up with your superstitious mob trying to run my life and yet you wonder why we get an attitude. You self righteous, self centered, holier than thou, a88 on your shoulders bigots should eat some of your own cooking. Shelly is the perfect example here of the meddling busybody. You live in a fantasy that I want no part of. Your superstitious hallucinations based on emotion has created more misery and hate than any reason in the history of humanity. Stay away from me. I don't want anything to do with your fictitious baloney. If you try it you may get hurt.

I think Christians are intolerant of athiests. Unfortunetly when we try to talk to an athiest, he/she turns a deaf ear. They are entitled to what they believe even if it means going to hell for eternity. We Christians need to take a step back, and not try so hard to be so convincing. Athiests cannot be convinced unless there is some sort of divine intervention. We Christians mean well. We are trying to spread the message but what good does it do to do so to a hostile person. A true Christians expectations are nothing like what you may be experiencing. God taught us to be loving and patient, not pushy and full of expectations. We cannot change someone's belief or values. They have to decide to do that on their own in their own time.

Not all Christians expect atheists to change.
I think a true Christian respects the right of each person to have their beliefs.
And in conjunction with answer#2, atheists are guilty of this practice also.
When will we have learned to have mutaul respect for each other while still expressing our beliefs?

I am a Christian, and let me explain the way I feel like this...if I saw a man standing on the edge of a building claiming he could fly and about to "prove" it, then it would be up to me to try to convince him that he could not fly as to protect him from death. If I can stop someone from dying, then I will try. I'm not sure what your definition of rudeness is or what may have happened to prompt this question, but what kind of Christians would we be if we didn't try to lead the lost to Christ? I am not trying to change your beliefs, I am just sharing mine.

Atheists are already moral. WE don't worship a God who kills millions, has his own kid killed, and commands his followers to hurt and kill people. None of that stuff is moral or worthy of praise.
People who DON'T worship a sadistic, immoral, killer God are NOT 'lost'.

Ha, Ha....you must be new around here....it is usually the intolerant atheists who are always trying to convince us that there is no God...blah, blah, blah.
You must have you head in the sand.
As to why the Christians are telling the truth...we do it because Jesus expects us to tell the truth of the Gospel and yes HE does expect them to change because of it....
