If you had ever tried to run on sidewalk you would understand.
First, there's the hardness of concrete that you don't have on asphalt.
Second, there's the constant pounding as you cross streets; having to step down, then back up; and the ups and downs due to driveways and wheelchair ramps.
ONce you've run both, you'll see there's no question why runners run on the road.

What the last guy said was dead on.....another thing about the sidewalks is that they are sometimes very uneven which poses a good risk of tripping and falling.....but, a jogger/runner should have the sense to at least run against traffic. And if the road is real narrow, I will usually jump onto the sidewalk or grassy strip next to the road while a car passes.

Running on the sidewalk is often impossible because of parked cars, kids, their toys, etc. I don't know of any runners who wish to be hit. However, I have encountered many drivers who wish to hit runners, and when they can not hit them throw bottles and cans at them.

the clarification is this, working on asphalt quite than concrete is far less complicated on the joints... i'm a runner and that i do no longer run with an mp3 in simple terms because of the fact its no longer risk-free.... are not getting why human beings run with them on and that i to work out this and get very annoyed.... might on no account run with the site visitors too risky and extremely annoying...Defeats the objective as to why i might run........it incredibly is my concept technique, and its obtrusive others do exactly no longer think of.....

"hmm ...do i want to die and risk my life for more shock absorbtion and a better time??! sure!!!!!!"
thats kind of dumb...I dont know. where I am though, there arent any sidewalks anywhere so we always run in the road. if its a group of people from a school, you should call the school and let them know about it, they wont do it again.
