I think that the Vatican is pro life all the way. Also, from what I've read about this case, the guy isn't getting a fair shake at all, because he's black.

Unfortunately for that guy, he's black. Which sadly still hinders his chances of getting a fair shake by the justice system.
I've read a bit about the case and it seems like he deserves to have a new trial. One of the two remaining witnesses against him is the person accused by some of the witnesses who have recanted.

The sentence of a Georgia convict is not any business of anybody but the citizens of Georgia.
