Eric, The body dies and souls not redeemed goes somewhere. They don't just rot with their bodies. David was in Abrahams bosom that was were the OT Saints were. When Jesus raised from the dead, body, soul & spirit, so also the Saints in Abrahams bosom raised up soul/spirits to the 3rd heaven. So? To die on earth, is to be with the Lord in heaven. Are bodies know nothing & turn to dust. Our soul/spirits go to heaven if our sins are atoned for through Jesus redeeming blood. Even one sin keeps us out of heaven; so souls not saved, go to a place of sleep, hell or hell fire.

It's more like Catholics ask saints to use their influence to get their prayers answered and to get forgiveness for sins. Catholics call this "intercession". Saints are believed to intercede on your behalf by petitioning God to cut you some slack. Catholics don't worship saints as some people think but they do believe that saints hear their prayers and can pull strings for them.

Mary (and the saints) were wonderful humanbeing...but she sin just like everyone eles. The only person not to sin is Jesus Christ.

You can't pray to saints who are dead.

Do souls die?

"The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:20. "Every living soul died in the sea." Revelation 16:3.

According to God's Word, souls do die! We are souls, and souls die. Man is mortal (Job 4:17). Only God is immortal (1 Timothy 6:15, 16). The concept of an undying, immortal soul goes against the Bible, which teaches that souls are subject to death.

Do good people go to heaven when they die?

"All that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth." John 5:28, 29. "David ... is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day." "For David is not ascended into the heavens." Acts 2:29, 34. "If I wait, the grave is mine house." Job 17:13.

People do not go either to heaven or hell at death. They go to their graves to await the resurrection day. King David will be saved in God's kingdom. However, he is in his grave now, where he awaits the resurrection.

How much does one know or comprehend after death?

"The living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun." "There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10. "The dead praise not the Lord." Psalms 115:17.

God says that the dead know absolutely nothing!

Since Judgement day hasn't happen..saints who die are still in there graves including Mary. There people in the bible who are in heaven right now (Moses Ennoch, Elliah) but no where in the bible it saids Mary (or any other saints for that matter) is in heaven.

Yes Christian do pray for others but We pray for other people who are alive and they a pray for health or a safe drive etc.but we direct the prays to GOD. We don't pray to people who r dead.

I guess that is a good way of putting it. We ask Mary and the Saints to pray for us

Catholics ask for the intercession of prayer to the Saints, as we may ask a priest to pray for us to GOD. We in fact are asking priests for this sort of intercession in confession. We don't worship Saints, but we do ask for their intercession. We Believe in the Communion of Saints, which we define as those in HEAVEN, those in purgatory, and those on Earth . .. all parts of the Church. We who are the CHURCH militant on Earth ask the CHURCH triumphant for intercession and pray for those in teh CHURCH suffering in purgatory . ..

LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.
