As much as people like to say the are non-prejudice and open minded, they sure hate Christians.
Guess what?? Jesus predicted that hatred of His followers.
I wonder how they like that, knowing that they are doing exactly what Jesus said they would do.
Its in the Bible.
John 15:18
[ Disciples' Relation to the World ] " If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
Luke 6:22
" Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
John 15:20
"Remember the word that I said to you, ' A slave is not greater than his master ' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

Probably because even though this is the R & S section people (non Christians and Christians alike) get tired of having every answer include the word Jesus or a Bible passage. I will only thumbs down an answer if it is rude, includes Bible passages (unless the question specifically ask for a Bible passage) or if it tries to convert someone. One questioner asked if it was okay to pray to God if she was not saved. She specifically said she did not want to be converted. Someone wrote that she had to be saved to pray. They got a thumbs down. BTW, the same rules apply to atheists, Muslims, etc. The Christians also are guilty of this little game. Afterall, I'm sure it's not an atheist that gave me thumbs down.

You bring up a thoughtful question. I can only surmise that illusion, irrationality and myth are considered thumbs-downable offenses. That or people are associating JC with all the murder from the bible, along with all the bloodshed that's been done for the past 2,000 years in his name.
For many people Jesus = intolerance, even though it's really intolerant people invoking his name. Just a guess though.
"The last Christian died on the cross."
— Friedrich Nietzsche
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
— Mahatma Gandhi
Oops. I just thought of one more....
Of course, it doesn't help JC's case to condemn 4.5 billion non-Christian planet-dwellers to hell either. Maybe that's what people are thumbing down. You must admit it does smack of a little bit of self-righteous arrogance to claim if others don't believe in your fantasy, you will send them to die a painful fiery death for eternity? (Whether we believe in hell or not is irrelevant, metaphorically speaking it's not a very nice thing to do to your fellow human beings)

Because they even can't stand hearing the realities. In fact I know that people don't believe the things they are actually afraid of. So they are trying to ignore religion by clicking the thumbs down button. I wish there was a button for those who can't stand the people don't have the same thoughts. So We would hide them by clicking their buttons.

Non-religious people are prejudicial. They are also very judgmental. I am a Catholic, Christian woman, which is a double whammy to them, but a blessing to me. If it makes them happy to give me a thumbs down, then more power to me and God. They cannot accept that there are people in this world that think differently than they do.
Take it as a compliment sugar.

i'm an Atheist yet I in simple terms provide the solutions thumbs-downs in the event that they dribble on approximately "god created the universe" and so on yet with none verifiable evidence, as i might with any style of answer. human beings may be religious in the event that they like as long as they do no longer stress their perspectives onto me.

It's God's way of letting us know that we are blessed!
Luke 6:22 "Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! 23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets.

Jesus said, "The world will hate you because of me."
What these ignorant people don't realize is, when they bash Jesus or His followers, they prove Jesus right by their hateful words.
He also said to pray for them.
