Compare the two side-by-side.

You WILL see that the dedicated player has a far superior picture quality than the laptop.

That is because the Blu-Ray player is designed specifically to play Blu-Ray discs. The laptop isn't - it's a Jack-of-all-trades and master of none. It's a computer with a cheap Blu-Ray player slapped in.
