Sometimes it works perfect, then the left channel goes out for a few minutes, then comes back on. Is there a simple fix for this problem?

You have an intermittent connection. ~
Probably a bad solder joint or a bad connector. Some of these will act up with temperature differences.

Hi.Turn off the DVD Player and unplug the left cables .Check that the plugs that attach to the end of the cables are secure and not loose .Re-tighten them to make sure .Plug the cables in to the back of the Player making sure they go all the way in .Turn on and check the sound to see if the problem is fixed.
