Is the morally or spiritually wrong for me to tell on someone?
A friend of a friend is cheating the system by collecting housing and daycare assistance because they think she is a single mom, but she’s not. Her baby’s father is living with her and he makes pretty good money. She also has a pretty good job as well. They use the extra money to buy clothes, cars, and rims, etc… because the assistance pays all the rent ($1200). I want to call and report her because I think it’s wrong to cheat the system since there are real single moms out there that need help. Do you think I should mind my business? Is it wrong spiritually to tell on someone? I’d hate to tell her on and I get paid back for it (Karma).
What should I do?

This person is not my friend. I found out about what she is doing from a mutual friend...

First of all..."Karma" is just a BS term...don't let something like that cloud your decision-making process.
Secondly, this is NOT a "spiritual" issue either. This is a question of right or wrong, as it pertains to the law.
If you believe that she is breaking the law, you are doing nothing wrong by bringing that to the attention of the "system" that is pouring money into her pockets. This money is coming out of my tax dollars, and I am REALLY a single mom!

You are perfectly within your rights as a taxpayer and a citizen to report someone who is taking advantage of the welfare system in the way you describe.
So no, I do not think it is morally wrong, and I cannot see how it is spiritually wrong ~ after all, by NOT reporting her you are lying by ommission to the authorities.
However ~ this action will not be without consequences to you. Your friend will lose her benefits and may be prosecuted. She could be sent to prison depending what the law is where you live. Her bf may vanish when the 'gravy train' stops and the kids could suffer as a result.
None of that is your responsibility, your friends are the ones who are cheating and they must take that responsibility, but she will be angry and will wonder who reported her. If she finds out it was you, she may retaliate in some way, or her bf might. If he is living off the welfare benefits for a single mother he is probably capable of anything.
Be careful how you do it, and don't expect to be friends with her afterwards.
In fact, given that you dislike her behaviour so much (with good reason), I cannot understand why you associate with her at all!
Good luck :-)

Clearly, when someone is taking assistance that they do not deserve, the immorality and/or bad karma is THEIRS, not yours.
Yes, you may turn them in with a clear conscience and a good Karmic record. The system only has so much $$ to spread around, and when sheisters like that take the money, it makes it less likely that others who actually need it will be able to get help.

In this case I don't believe it is either morally or spiritually wrong to tell on her. She is abusing the system and taking money that does not rightfully belong to her. For everyone that abuses the system --- it will eventually drain the system and take away benefits from people who really need the services. I don't think reporting her will result in bad Karma for you.

I agree they must probable be in a foster domicile in the event that they are in a position to't be cared for ideal, yet while they hadn't eaten something for 2 days do no longer you think of you ought to purchase the breakfast for him or something (in case you do no longer choose human beings to apply your money for purposes you are not getting excitement from, supply the nutrition in the present day, provide a discount, and so on.)? What approximately him? He won't be in a position to place himself in a foster domicile, he's a grown guy. whether he exchange into mendacity, there are different information on a thank you to evade a rip-off than to flat out refuse any style of help without understanding.

Tell.
There are a lot of single moms out there that need it more than she does.
If you are worried about karma, then think of the next mom in line for aid, you are helping her!
My guess is she has a cell phone and many luxury items. If she can afford to get her hair and nails done (etc.), she doesn't need financial aid.

Loyalty is reserved for people you'd die for. I'd go ahead and narc them out. It's completely wrong of them to cheat the system, ESPECIALLY because the rest of society assumes that all people receiving benefits cheat the system. It gives good people a bad name.

No "morally and spiritually" about it...
If you know and don't tell you are a co-conspirator after the fact
aka: AIDING AND ABETTING A CRIME
Aiding and abetting a crime is a crime in itself and you can be prosecuted for it.
BTW: Since this is an ongoing fraud, you might even be prosecuted as a co-conspirator!

I'd say yes, coming from a child of a single mother who really used every check she got to raise her children and needed every dollar she received to cover the costs.

No, in this case, I think it's quite honest to tell on her. This welfare abuse is taking taxpayer money that could be used by people who really need it.
