When I vote I read all the answers and pick the one I liked the best.
And yes... there are alot of people on here with multiple ID's that cheat. But alot of the votes are legitimate too.

I have voted for answers other than my own, and I have also voted for myself when I felt like I gave a good answer. I noticed a question the other day that had been put to a vote and one of the answers that had the distinction of being ridiculous had received over 30 votes. I believe that had to be multiple accounts or something. It wasn't that the answer didn't agree with mine, it was more that it was intended to be a joke or something and did not even answer the question. For that question I have serious doubts that so many R & S answerers (who seem to pride themselves on being taken seriously) would vote for that particular answer.

Well I was reading these answers and one person said that there was over 30 votes for an answer that they thought was ridiculous...and I think that if someone is lame enough to log in with over 30 screennames (wow) to vote for their answer to be the best (what a loser) which isn't even a good one (because they're dumb) then they obviously have no life and the only kick they get is having a high score on Y! answers, so eff 'em. I can't compete with that!!

I've only seen one of my questions come up when I voted for best answers. I don't remember if I voted for it because I really couldn't remember what I'd said. I always try to pick the one I think is the best. If it was a silly question, I go for the one that made me laugh. If I can't decide between a couple of them, I do the eenie meenie minie mo thing.

Because they normally are the first answer, and people speed by trying to pick up 1 point for voting.

I don't know if you can vote for yourself. One time I got 14 votes. But usually it is one or two.

It is possible to vote for yourself, yes, and it is theoretically possible to have multiple IDs and fix the election, yes.

i don't vote for myself...i actually wait to see if the person believed my answer to be the best answer...however it does irritate me when someone asks a question and just lets it go forever...usually i really do try to answer them...and it is just annoying to me
