To me it’s just wasted tax money. These guys will at worst deny anything that contradicts the bible and at best change around facts so their beliefs still miraculously make sense to them. Isn’t it like teaching a pot-bellied bricklayer how to model ball gowns on a catwalk?

<<< sigh >>> Yet ANOTHER person who doesn't know the night-and-day difference, respectively, between the doltish *pseudo*-Christian lemmings of the RRR Cult -- and ACTUAL Christians.

The cultists (among whom most of the evolution-denyers are found) comprise only a mere 6% of the Americans who *profess* Christianity. Though small in numbers (15 million people, TOPS, out of America's 300,000,000), they are a very noisy and noisome squeaky-wheel faction which lyingly CLAIMS to be Christian, while pursuing hateful and loathsome agendas that seek to destroy vital and important personal liberties for over 100 million Americans.

Actual, normal Christians, on the other hand, are relatively intelligent people who generally recognize evolution as the factual (and OBVIOUS) aspect of science that it is, often are very science-oriented, recognize that the Bible *does* contain contradictions, have NO sociopathic agendas, are NON-obnoxious, UNobtrusive, and are your sensible, friendly, and tolerant next-door neighbors. They comprise 94% of America's professing Christians... about 235,000,000 of the USA's 300,000,000 people.

You need to learn the HUGE difference between the two groups, and stop badmouthing and insulting the innocent majority.

That said, though, Desiree, I **COMMEND** you for levelling criticism that is much deserved. But ONLY the RRR Cult deserves it. The "Religious" Radical Right.

Christianity doesn't deny science. The science is the same, the difference is in the interpretation of the evidence. It is certainly possible to look at the evidence and come up with a different conclusion to the Darwin evolutionary position. Indeed, many would see that the evidence fits perfectly well with a design position. Even Richard Dawkins in his anti-creation book The Blind Watchmaker admits “Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose.” In other words its science vs science.

Talk about wasting time trying to teaching anyone anything! Here is a link to some famous scientists who incidentally were also believed in God:

http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/sciencefaith.html

Not that I believe for a second that you care to open your mind, challenge your biases, and follow the link; so, I'll include the names here. It is after all an impressive list:

1. Nicholas Copernicus
2. Sir Fancis Bacon
3. Johannes Kepler
4. Galileo Galilei
5. Rene Descartes
6. Isaac Newton
7. Robert Boyle
8. Michael Faraday
9. Gregor Mendel
10. William Thomson Kelvin
11. Max Planck
12. Albert Einstein

Let me go further. America was founded by believers all in God. Your freedom to be stupidly opinionated comes from their belief that you are endowed by your creator with certain inalienable rights. Even as you abuse those rights by abusing those who made such sacrifices that you may enjoy them, you do so because of God, their faith, their prayer, and in many cases, their bloodshed.

This country would not be the most powerful nation on earth were it not for Christians. It would not be the most generous, were it not for Christians.

I lay this challenge at your atheistic, God-hating feet. Give me a list of 12 atheistic scientists who accomplished more than these 12 scientists. Are we as a people thankful that those stupid believers were taught some science? Now the question is, can you be taught some facts? Can you be taught to mind your manners?

That question would be very much like asking what's the use in teaching you to respect others and their beliefs, because such lessons seem to have been wasted.

As a Christian I'll gladly inform you that Christians (at least the ones I know) don't change science or facts at all to prove ourselves correct. To believe what you're saying, I'd have to believe that Christians had managed to outsmart most everyone else, which is giving us just a bit to much credit I'm afraid. Christians use science to disprove crackpot theories (such as evolution which if you bother to look has no scientific backing at all) and correct errors made in the past because, yes, even secular humans make mistakes and screw things up. Hope this helps, and if it's at all possible, please try not to jump to conclusions and spout pointless opinions when asking future questions, as all that does is really just upset people and reduce the quality of the answers you're likely to get.

God bless,

Every person is at the most basic level, still an individual. No matter how or what they have been told is the 'truth' about the world they live in, it is their personal choice to accept or reject the ''facts" that others present to them. I'm concerned that if one were to follow your 'logic', otherwise independent thinkers would never be exposed to another point of view...and that would be truly sad. Please stop and think about this before taking such a unilateral position based on your pocketbook. The important thing is to invite the option and encourage folks (young and old) to 'think' wisely and from their heart sense rather then from someone else's agenda...So, from my personal perspective, it is certainly NOT a waste of money. Blessings.....

Yes, but at least seeing a pot-bellied bricklayer in a Versace ball-gown can elicit a laugh or two.

You're terrible.....but your last question is funny! LOL

I'm a Christian and speaking for myself, the use in my learning science was the same as it would be for anyone else. Because I want to gain knowledge and understanding. Being Christian is a separate issue to me and I have no desire to only know about one or the other. Just because I believe God created the world does not mean I do not believe in science as well.

You silly billy. The reason we teach them science is so they can go and create their 27 million dollar Creationist Museum! That way they can then fool themselves it's based on "science": http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14122311/

When science and the Bible differ, science has obviously misinterpreted its data.
— Henry Morris, Head of Institute for Creation Research

The church says the earth is flat, but I know that it is round, for I have seen the shadow on the moon, and I have more faith in a shadow than in the church.
— Ferdinand Magellan

One of the proofs of the immortality of the soul is that myriads have believed in it. They have also believed the world was flat.
— Mark Twain

The earth is flat, and anyone who disputes this claim is an atheist who deserves to be punished.

To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin.

"I find every sect, as far as reason will help them, make use of it gladly; and where it fails them, they cry out, it is a matter of faith, and above reason."

o del-rio,
your foolish numbers again?
how fast can you move your body through the air this day, 80, 90 120 miles an hour...
okay here's a science quiz,
your life span here over(as in a ratio) of eternity
lets see,
that makes all lives equal zero or some such,
might as well be zero right, anything into infinity=0
right?
so, lets see.......
zero, no letter equals zero
thats why romans didnt have a zero
they at least knew that
A=1, but no letter=0
so i'll have to go with the ALPHA-OMEGA on this one....

These are very vocal Christians that use magic to support their weak faith. The flatness of the Earth of whatever. They cannot love God without something they cannot explain propping up their faith. They require a permanent example of a miracle that they can lean on every day. Creation is not enough for some people. God made sodium and chlorine and they combine to form salt. Wow, but this is science for them and not religion. They have created two Gods, one of science and one of religion. They accuse others of putting science above religion but there is one God and science is the study of creation.
