So what exactly does it mean to be a "friend to the world"... and has Tammy Faye Messner become one?

I can't speak for Tammy, but being a "friend of the world" has to do with having the mind set of this world that values temporal matters first and either denies or gives lip service to living before God and being with Him for all eternity. Friends of this world are "wise in their own eyes" and put what they think ahead of what God has said. They chase after money and power and pleasure instead of seeking God and living a life that is pleasing to Him.
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions--is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

That is exactly what tammy faye was...a friend to the world, she marched in gay parades, kissed little dogs dressed like a slut and lived like a queen off other's money..
She and her husband tried to destroy Jerry Falwell after God brought down their empire.

By "friendship with the world" It means "living in iniquity" for short.
