There is ONE mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ....1Timothy2:5.
.....we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous....1John 2:1
With that said, I would like someone to show me biblically exactly where confessing to a priest is. I am a student of the Bible, and consider myself to be pretty well read.....and the Bible says that Jesus Christ is my advocate to God, my one and only mediator to God, and my High Priest. The forgiveness of sins came through the shedding of Christs blood, and when a person asks forgiveness in prayer to our Lord (1John 1:9)....not a priest.
The one and only way a person gets into heaven is by receiving Jesus as their personal savior....John 10:9, Acts 16:31, 1Timothy1:15, Hebrews 7:25, Romans 1:16,5:8&9, 6:23, 10:9&13,Ephesians 2:5&8. If a priest does not do this, then he will not get there.
Search the Bible for your answers, if it is not in there then it shouldnt be a part of your relationship with Christ or in the ideas of how one gets to heaven.

Nope. The "etc." part has me wanting to say "yes, partially" - because a Priest can, in fact, "give himself" Holy Communion.
But as for the other Sacraments...including Confession and Absolution, Holy Unction, etc - that takes a "proper minister" (that's a Sacramental term) - and that would be "a person other than himself."
No - a Priest cannot give himself absolution.

Confession is just a ritual. Unless you really repent for your sins, whether you go through a Catholic priest's ritual or in your own prayers (as Protestants do), then God won't forgive you.
In that regard, so long as you are truly sorry for your sins and accept Christ as your savior, then no matter what, you get into Heaven ;)

priests cannot give themselves confession...they have to give it to another priest however...according to that religious thought though...anyone can do anything and be forgiven...so it really doesn't matter if you are catholic and practice confession you get in...regardless of the crime

"As a Catholic Priest", I will tell you that The only way to God the Father In Heaven is Through "His" Son Jesus Christ. and This is who Forgives us our Sin's." Not Man" Also for We All have sinned and Fall short of The Glory of God. Salvation is The Only Way To Heaven, It is a free Gift, It can never be earned.

No.
No priest (including the pope) can absolve himself.
Therefore every priest up to and including the Pope needs to go to another priest to give his confession.
"The priest is not a priest for himself. He does not give absolution to himself. He does not administer the sacraments to himself. He does not exist for himself, he exists for you" (Cure of Ars: Monnin II 453).
What a comfort to the guilty, when, stung with remorse and repenting of his sins, he hears the word of the priest who says to him in God's name: "I absolve thee from thy sins!" These words fall, it is true, from the lips of one who, in his turn, must needs beg the same absolution from another priest. This does not debase the merciful gift; but makes it, rather, appear greater; since beyond the weak creature is seen more clearly the hand of God through whose power is wrought this wonder. (Encyclical of Pope Pius Xi on the Catholic Priesthood) http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/pius_xi/encyclicals/documents/hf_p-xi_enc_19351220_ad-catholici-sacerdotii_en.html
