I FIRMLY believe in the pre-tribulation rapture.
1Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
1Thessalonians 5:9 "For God has not appointed us to wrath....
2Thessalonians 2:6 "And now ye know what withholdeth that he may be revealed at this time". This is referring to the restraining power of the church that will be removed before the Antichrist is revealed.
Revelation 3:10...."I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation (tribulation), which shall come upon the whole world, and try them that dwell upon the earth". This is when Christ was talking about the end of the church age.
NOTICE...not one single time is the church referred to in Revelation 4:2-19:10. That is because born again christians will NOT be there.
There are some who get the rapture and the second coming of Christ confused. The rapture is when those who are saved will be called UP to meet him, 1Thessalonians 4:17. His second coming will be when he descends from heaven to the same place that He ascended from, Zechariah 14:4.
I truly believe that we who will be on this earth are not just going to be the "unfortunate" believers alive at the time that will have to face the tribulation. What kind of comfort or peace would one know if they knew they were going to go through hell on earth.
We have a faithful and just God who will spare us (born again, saved believers) from this.

I favor the post-trib interpretation while emphasizing the principle that Christians can disagree on this non-essential doctrine but should never let it be a source of division in the body of Christ.
Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.
The LAST trump.
Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying, "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was, for you have taken your great power and begun to reign. 18 The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the earth."

Pre-Tribulation Raptus/Harpazo, because that is what the Word of God teaches.
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
The tribulation is the time described as God's wrath poured out on the world. We are not appointed to wrath but salvation. God's Word clearly tells us that bible believing Christians will not experience the wrath of God.
Revelation 6:17
For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
The only thing the Left Behind series has wrong is actually their central idea, that those left behind will be able to become believers. The Word makes it clear that God will pour out a spirit of confusion making this very difficult.
The bible describes the rapture as believers going to Him, to meet Jesus in the air. The second coming is described as Jesus coming to earth. There is a clear distinction between the two. They happen at different times.
1 Thes 4:16, For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words.
2 Thes 2:1, Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers, 2not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come. 3Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
The book of Revelations supports this also. The first 3 chapters are letters to the churches. They are letters to both the churches at that time, the Church throughout history and the churches of today. If you look at the history of the Church along with the first three chapters of revelation, you see what is called the Church age, from Jesus leaving the earth up until the rapture. That is why chapter 4 begins with a picture of the rapture:
Rev 4:1After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."
What happens after the rapture of the Church ending the Church age? The tribulation, "what must take place after this."

I believe in mid-trib. We are told that the Christian will not bear the total tribulation because it will be too hard. So they will be taken up after 31/2 years.

.The 'rapture ' of the Church occurs simultaneously with Christ's second Coming in glory and the resurrection of the dead.............All occur together,(see I Thess. 4:15-17); ..."AFTER the Tribulation of those days"(Matt. 24:29-31)
"...At the LAST trumpet"... I Corin. 15:52
Don't be deceived by the fictional "Left Behind" series....which is based on a common misconception that claims the 'rapture' occurs years before Christ's Return. This is not found in Scripture.

I think that both are in scripture, like free will and predestination and it would be unfair to try to defend either.
Of the pre, post and ah millennium theory's I prefer the fourth the pan millennium approach
God is in control, it's his plan and his timing, and everything will "pan" out in the end.
