Just because a person likes something whether they are an adult or not, does not mean that they are not properly educated or are not smart. Why does it matter so much to you who likes what anyway? Just be happy with what you like and do and don't worry about others. The most properly educated and smartest people in the world are known and where known to be young at heart. Not dumb, not far away from their age category, but just open to things that can prove to be of great interest. Read the books and you'll see its not your ordinary simple book.

Although I have not read any of the books, I find your argument disturbing. Who cares that so many people want to read a book, besides you of course. Now you suggest that every adult in the world is uneducated, etc. Take a look in the mirror and examine your own arguments. Look up the word generalization in the dictionary.

So, because an adult likes Harry Potter they have no intellect? That just proves that you're the one who has no intellect..

I've never read the HP books but I know educated, intelligent adults who do. I don't know why you feel the need to be insulting about something that many people enjoy. No offense but you are coming across as very arrogant.

I have never read any of the books, so it would seem hypocritical to judge others who enjoy them.

But I agree that overall there is way too much hype about a children's book.

So... just because people enjoy an entertaining book they lack education, culture AND intellect?

I think you lack common sense. Now that's sad.

Take that!

The books are so much better than the movies
Besides, how is it any of your concern what anyone wants to watch?

What I think is idiotic is the Christian protest to it.

I'm with you.

They aren't even very well written. I read a couple in 5th grade or so, and even then, it just seemed like bad writing.

Now I'm 18, and my friends are still crazy over it. I can understand overlooking the crappy writing at 10, but at 18? Wow...

I enjoy the movies. I don't go crazy for them, but they're pretty good. Haven't read the books....just not my thing.

But if I can go crazy for the Transformers that just came out, I can let others go crazy for other movies and books.

I've had proper education, I'm quite cultured, and highly intellectual. I'm guessing you can't grasp the idea, or you're religious. Your loss my dear.
