I hate pool drains, it's the creepiest thing ever to me! I heard a story about how a lady drowned in her pool because her hair got stuck in a drain and she couldn't swim back up. Am I a loser for having a fear like this? Btw, I am 14!

I haven't heard the one about the hair getting stuck in the drain, but there are a lot of horror stories (TRUE ones) about issues with pool drains.

Swim away, just stay away from the drain.

And no, you;re not a loser.

I don't think your a loser for feeling this way. Our feelings are very real to us & everyone is entitled to have their feelings. So, please don't feel like a loser. Your only 14 & you have your whole life ahead of you.

The best way to get over your fears, is to face them. Try asking a friend to accompany you & go swimming, near the drain. You will eventually become relaxed swimming in a pool.

Good luck & God Bless!

You're not a loser, but you're within reason to fear pool drains.

Confront your fear - swim down to a pool drain and put your hair all over it. (I guess you can keep a pair of scissors with you though...).

Not at all, we all go through stages in Life where something is scary or fearfull for us. However, if you dwell on fear in other things as well you might have an anxiety issue.

Not at all.

If is very common for people to have fears like that, of all sorts of different things that will get them - that is especially true at your age.

NO, they are dangerous. Many children have been severely hurt or died from these.
