Flipping an automatic transmission between gears while the car is still moving will wear out an automatic's ability to change gears. Most people (my sister and boyfriend included) often change from reverse to drive while the car is still rolling backwards, thinking the split second it's in neutral will make it okay. It doesn't. If your driving habits are the same, or the previous driver's habits were like that, it could explain why it won't change gears anymore.

Sorry to hear about that man, that sucks.

17 years ago Nissan Build a very good car Yours. Now when the oil pump inside the autotransmission wears out you did not get enough out of it? Line pressures tests will tell for sure But it is my bet either a bearing thrust washer had failed and the clutch packs are loosing oil pressure or the pump it self has packed it in. Should have shopped a new car last year. You can put in transmission oil treatment Thick oil addative and see if you can make it to the car lot to trade it in...Good Luck
